    still no GNB sound change :)

    so i guess that's it then?its been almost 2 months since the change and they haven't even addressed concerns in a post or anything,there was a very highly rated GNB sound post in questions for the developer but all we get is "aRe tHE exARcH SANwhIchEs hAndMAde?"

    hey guys when next expansion drops and 99.999% of the playerbase is busy playing and enjoying themselves in the first couple of days, make sure to go to the forums and complain,because thats how they decide changes it seems,the tiny 0.0001% minority wins. se why didn't u give us a nero gun hammer job if this is what u intended? lmao im done

    What's weird that barely anyone likes the change. It feels like a way to balance tanks. GNB was too cool so they made it annoying to play.
    I'm not giving up. I will keep sending them suggestion every one or two weeks, and post here from time to time.

    I dunno why you are complaining when they specifically said that this mini patch would ONLY address NIN, SAM and SMN in the LL. If you wanna cry over the GNB sounds, please wait till after 5.1 patch when the majority of job changes will happen next. Yes, the main combo's sounds on ShB launch were better, but I'm sure the devs have more stuff to handle that solely focusing on the GNB sounds.

    If they destroyed it instantly for no reason, we expect instant fix. Their idleness is an insult, and we will not ignore it.

    I was one of the people who complained in the post that brought the sound changes, and all that was asked was for the explosions to have a bit more oomph, just tune up the volume a bit. I dont understand why they decided to overhaul the whole gnb fxs to blunt weapon sounds.

    LOL chill, they will most likely fix it in 5.1, they have had bigger concerns with balancing other jobs than dealing with minor issues such as sound effects. It doesn't stop your ability to play the job. There are at least 20 post like this where people cry like little babies about, yes the sounds aren't as good as they were, but again they've had more important things to deal with. And the devs don't have to instantly fix it, just because you demand it to be done so. I've seen posts complain prior asking for more oomph and there seemed to be some mishap along the way, but just be patient GNB isn't the only job in the game with issues.

    It sounds prominently like a blunt weapon when in combat such as a dungeon or raid. Keen Edge has a "wack" or "thwack" sound on the end of the animation, Brutal Shell has a "puon" or "bun" sound for both hits, and Solid Barrel has both of those in each of its hits. Before 5.01, in combat the most prominent sounds that sticks out was a slicing sound effect similar to, though not exactly, what the powder combo has now and a gun fire sound on the end of some animations.

    Also coincidentally Solid Barrel's SE is similar to the sound effects of a skill used by the Dwarven Automatons on Northern Kholusia, that skill name in English is "Bludgeon".

    Edit: Quick Clarification, prominent sound is the sound that you are very much guaranteed to hear in the mix of all the action and music. For example, Dargoons full thrusts, if you are the Dragoon or near one, you will hear what sounds like a jet passing by. For Samurais, its their slicing sound effect, same for Ninjas with daggers albit lighter or Ninjitsu. In the case of Spell casters, its a bit different since the sound is centered around spells and where those spells land, but you will nonetheless hear a distinct crack of thunder, an explosion of fire, or which ever healing sound that healers make when they use their spells.

    These prominent sounds add to the feel of the gameplay in the form of satisfaction that says, this job is here or nearby, is doing a certain action and can be recognized as so.
