I do exactly as you described in the last part
If you open with both drill and AA, you miss quite a lot of damage due to missed buffs for aa

It truly depends on your team composition.
But if I'm not mistaken you should miss Brotherhood, Embolden, Devotion, Devilment, Divination and Trick Attack by using Air Anchor as the 4th GCD.
I truly doubt you would get Devilment as a MCH.
Trick Attack is up every 60s seconds meaning 1/2 of your AA would get the TA bonus and you would miss the window anyway (9s Hypercharge + 1 Drill/AirAnchor).
Brotherhood is every 90s meaning 1/3 of your AA would get the Bruh bonus.
Which is reduced to Embolden (10~2%), Devotion (5%) and Divination (6~4%) you can fully benefits from.
Devotion would be too short for what I quoted so get rid of that aswell.
On the other hand, if you use Air Anchor after 20 seconds you should miss Battle Litany and Chain Stratagem, maybe Battle voice and may loose a AA cast (Which is quite easy on a 40s CD).
I've been using this visual as a reference
well its hypercritical to stay with this "thesis" even for them since BLM and MNK are top dps with faceroll-gameplays atm... but yeah you are right I hate those "easy to learn hard to master bs as well" cause people a different and are used to different styles in generell so "difficulty" is and will ever be subjectiv.Because the forum is plagued with elitists who think that "Harder" jobs deserve more dps and "easier" jobs deserve less dps. These types of elitists also tend to think that the job or role they play is objectively harder to play than x job or x role therefore they deserve more dps than x job or x role.
