I'm not seeing how people think that summoner change is a buff. You still have to keep dots up as much as possible. Summoner neither gained nor lost DPS with its change.

It does mean that if you're a few seconds away from Tri-Disaster being available again, and or DoTs fall off and you don't realise, your Ruin potency isn't severely diminished on top of missing out on the DoT damage.
It may be more of a benefit for average players than top-level ones, but it's a benefit nevertheless. I'm sure they intended it to be encouragement to keep DoTs up but instead it's punishment if you forget.
Didnt know Housing for spriggan and twin was going up live today lol.
So NIN gained around 10% more potency on their combo skills (Except for Shadow Fang which got a beefy 40% boost to its DoT portion) and Bunshin's damage went up by about 33%.
I think that should easily makes them competitive again.
