I have not had real hardcore, rude and negative experiences in all my 6 years in the game but the forums...Another story.

In this forum? I mean I could have understood if they infracted me for referencing the website & program that shall not be named but discrimination? ... Guess the Mod just picked the first option available in order to be done with it.
Since then I assume that every post of mine is reported and keep out of any serious discussions about specific players.
My friend posted in the "Duty Finder woes"
topic, in which a player was upset about the bards speed buff and they had gotten incredibly angry.
He said something along the lines of "I'm scared the guy will find and kill us with the amount of anger"
and that netted him a ban for 10 days. The forums are incredibly sensitive and you must take great care about what you say here.
I try my hardest to be polite but even then, I somewhat shy away from serious discussions as it'll land me a ban for disagreeing.

What did they say exactly? How was it worded? I’m really curious as to see what is causing this fear, do you have screenshots?

I play FFXIV for about three years and its community is the best for me. I've played a few MMORPGs in the past, but their players weren't so nice, friendly and helpful. I'm not able to even count how many times somebody did something for me even though we didn't know each other. Now I am this kind of player myself - I like to help newbies and guide them. Of course, there are toxic players and bobs (like I call new, unskilled ones), but I just don't care about the first ones and try to help the second ones.

But about sensitivity... A few days ago I was talking to a guy I met ig. We were playing together for a few weeks, so I just decided to ask him about his real name. I didn't even think that it would be a big deal, it's totally normal and neutral question for me. But he was surprised. He told me if I'm not afraid about asking about such things because they can be offensive for people who don't feel a man or a woman. I can understand that someone doesn't feel comfortable with their name, but it's a bit ridiculous to me. I mean... you can always tell someone that you don't want to talk about your real name, you really don't have to be angry and report him. I think that some people are just too sentitive.

I know for a fact that the widely used term "trash tier" is ban-able in forums.
I suppose the words that SE wanted me to use to describe the worst of the worst players is "players that are a tiny bit less skilled than the current top rated PvP players".

Yesterday was doing roulette and got Aurum Vale, the healer had barely any time to react since the tank was getting destroyed even by single groups.
So the healer asked "Why is the tank dying so fast?".
No-one replied. Cause if i said "Check his ilvl 20/30 gear" it'll be a guarantee warning for "harassment" at the very least if i got reported by said "tank".

At least its good to know that if i ever get perma-banned for being so "unbelievably offensive" to others there's a game out there that i can join and dont feel like the forums/game is under martial law.

Wait, he got mad because you asked for his name and he didn't wanna tell because he doesn't identify as a gender? What's gender have to do with a name...?
I have never in my life ever heard of anyone being offended by asking them their name.
I thought asking for peoples names meant you wanna get close to them and be their friend, not offend them.
What is this world coming to!?

My mate was totally all right with my question. He didn't feel offended. But he told me that some people were when he asked them in the past.

I personally think there is nothing wrong at asking about names, how old people are or where are they from. I think you really can't ask more neutral questions and I hardly find them offensive, but I've seen enough to believe my mate.

A whole lot of people managed to respond to the post you’re referring to there without getting bans. I am actually a little surprised you don’t see why the example you posted would net a ban... it’s a bit obvious if that is an actual exact quote.

I'm not completely surprised since anything can get you banned.
I saw a comment that told the very same person to seek medical help, which can be offensive but they're still able to post. It just depends on who reports you. Like I said, even disagreements can land you a ban. A lot of people don't care to post here because off the sensitivity. You never know.

Nope. I fully admit that my paranoia is founded on hearsay as I myself find it very difficult to believe that a GM would take action against logical and constructive criticism but to be frank: better safe than sorry. I value my cat far too much in order to risk her well being.

That's because it is an insult.
Plain and simple. Calling another player "trash" is non negotiably (I just made that word up :< ) crossing the line.

If you want to refer to bad players use the term "weak players" or "below average players". You'll say the same thing w/o insulting half the community.

I wouldn't be offended of course but I would deny you an answer nonetheless.
I do not share RL data with people I do not trust and it takes a lot of time for me to trust you.

Ah I just take that thing with a grain of salt personally, I found one person here that claimed to be the victim of toxic behavior when all they gave was "helpful advice" then someone who was on their data centered posted a screenshot of said "helpful advice" and it was basically a flame war between them and someone else cussing each other out, I just don't think people are going to GM jail for giving helpful advice in a kind/benign manner, instead of "LOL git gud scrub or uninstall"
