It's still one, as you're equating one argument (glamour) against a completely different one (class balance). I'm not advocating for racial gear unlock, but by your argument, the odds of a female Viera using your very same RSE are pretty high, in fact many of them do and use parts of them for their glamours (like the boots! I use them, too!), but stuff like the High House Justaucorps, which is male only when it could easily be made to fit a female toon, or the Expeditioner's Coat, which would be EASIER to fit on a female toon yet it's still male exclusive, THOSE have no reason to be gender-restricted.

(As an aside, I've seen no request for unlocking racial emotes to other races, just gender-restricted emotes like DRK/DRG idle stance or Vposes)

I never said they were one in the same. I took a general concept of homogenization and pointed out how it's become very common along the direction that SE has decided to take. It doesn't really matter if it's a different kind of homogenization, because it still is exactly that. And you're right that it's very high that other Viera would be wearing the same RSE so why would I want everyone else to as well?

I understand why my argument is the controversial one, because it's very easy for me to say "It just makes sense for everyone to be allowed to wear the same thing" Instead of acknowledging the glaring problems that could come as a result of it. I've made my main point several times but everyone just wants to stick with the whole "jobs and glamour are not the same thing" Yah obviously, but that's not the point. The point is that you shouldn't be able to have everything that you want on a whim. No one wants to acknowledge possible negative consequences to making everything open and equal to all races/jobs/gameplay... it creates a gameplay experience that's not really worth working hard for, because everyone is exactly the same. It reminds me of that quote from the pixar movie The Incredibles "When everyone is super muahahahaaa.... no one will be"

I just find it funny people say they don't care what girls wear, but heavens forbid if a man wears a dress.
I want someone to explain to me why their feelings will be hurt if they
saw a man wear a dress? Trying hard to see the other half the argument here.

Now there's no real unique traits to any of the healers and tanks beyond a few niche skills, and I was literally told in one of my posts that if I want uniqueness, I should just play a DPS.

We've got to a point where people are now asking for homogenization with costumes and animations. I don't think you all realize what it is you're asking for, in another few months after you guys get your costumes then people are gonna ask for animations "This is 2020, why are running and idle animations locked to specific races!" And SE will once again cave to the mob instead of confidently sticking to their creative direction and there will be nothing unique to any of our characters besides racial features. Hell maybe you'll even ask for that, give bunny ears to Roes or cat tails to midlanders!

STOP with the homogenization. Take the loss for the sake of not completely ruining what's left of what makes each character unique (aesthetics). When people say "If you want girl clothes just play a girl" They don't say it cause they're homophobes or transphobe bigots, maybe they just wanna keep what makes their characters feel rare and unique without the meme squad coming in to take it all away.
Lmao, there's already glamour pieces that will be widely chosen over a bajillion others. And character creation is so limited, there's very little variation in characters either.

    Appearances are already "homogenized."

The development team are already stretched thin as it is. I'd quite like them to focus on designing more masculine looking gear, hairstyles and customisation options for male characters instead of spending time unlocking the ability for male characters to wear more dresses.

I'm still waiting for the stubble used in promotional footage to be made available. I'd also like more effort to be put into the male exclusive hairstyles and NPC outfits. Hien's outfit suffers from alarming texture issues and doesn't come with his hairstyle.

Well said. The game already suffers from it to a significant extent.

Yeah those are pretty cool. Is there a compelling reason not to make female versions of them too? That first one especially would look badass on a female character model.

It actually is exactly a fallacy: It's called the Slippery Slope fallacy
"You said that if we allow A to happen, then Z will eventually happen too, therefore A should not happen.
The problem with this reasoning is that it avoids engaging with the issue at hand, and instead shifts attention to extreme hypotheticals. Because no proof is presented to show that such extreme hypotheticals will in fact occur, this fallacy has the form of an appeal to emotion fallacy by leveraging fear. In effect the argument at hand is unfairly tainted by unsubstantiated conjecture."

The definition of a Strawman fallacy as pointed out to you earlier:
    "Strawman
You misrepresented someone's argument to make it easier to attack.
By exaggerating, misrepresenting, or just completely fabricating someone's argument, it's much easier to present your own position as being reasonable, but this kind of dishonesty serves to undermine honest rational debate."

(quoted text is not mine, it is quoted, and while it uses the word "you" it is not directly addressing any individual herein)
