Getting Booted with Error 90006

Two nights in a row now, instantly upon loading in with a character I'm seeing tremendous lag and getting booted within a couple minutes with Error 90006. I've made no changes to my rig and it's not my internet, can stream, download, and play other MMOs just fine with no lag and not getting booted. On Gilgamesh (Aether) and even with as populated as it is, I've never had an issue like this before. Please help me.

Directly, not wifi.

Does it happen when playing in a dungeons, when the game is loading, or in a city?

Just Limsa Lominsa, can't stay online long enough to travel anywhere else. People warping around, extreme lag when interacting with the Summoning Bell, FC window opens with no info or is extremely laggy before the info finally shows up, abilities don't activate or take forever to activate when attempting to teleport out of the city for instance. It's a mess.

What have you tried so far to alleviate the issue?

Basically everything I've seen in all the other tech help threads...Checked IE settings, changed to Windows 7 compatibility, ran as admin, restarted pc, rebooted modem, flushed DNS, renewed ipconfig...anything else?

And for what it's worth I ran around Guild Wars 2 for about 15 minutes with no issues whatsoever, and my daughter is also currently streaming a show on Hulu with no issues...

I am having the same issue.

• Connection is an ethernet connection to a router
• Windows Firewall and antivirus software are disabled
• I get booted in Limsa Lominsa, Mists, instanced dungeons (coil turn 9 & Ramuh Extreme), etc
• I checked IE settings, changed to Win 7 compatibility mode, ran as admin, restarted PC, rebooted modem and router, flushed DNS, tried different DNS servers, and tried without my router (connected directly to modem).

Original Poster Here with an Update: Still having the disconnect issues, but I did find something else out that might be relevant to my issue? (Not sure, wish I was more knowledgeable about these things)...ANYWAY, apparently my ISP upgraded my connection speed from 20 Mbps to 250 Mbps recently and keeping me at the same price per month (they are majorly upgrading their speeds for every customer in the service area and revamping their plans). So, what I did notice in a speed test through their website is that I'm actually only getting about 95 Mbps instead of 250 Mbps. So, I check my router which they provided to me in my service installation over 5 years ago, and searching that make/model tells me it's only capable of a max of 100 Mbps. So, being the layman that I am, could that be causing an issue and making me disconnect? Like I'm being throttled or something because the speed I'm supposed to be getting is out of sync with what my current router is capable of? I plan on ordering a new router today with one or two day shipping (sick of this sh*t and I want to play!) so I can actually get the new connection speed I'm paying for, but hoping to get some possible insight into whether or not this could potentially also be causing my connection issues with FFXIV.

I'm doubtful, but thought I'd ask, but considering Guild Wars 2 was fine (no lag, no disconnect), hulu/netflix streaming just fine, and everything else I've tried working fine...I'm more leaning towards a bad hop somewhere between me and the FFXIV data center, but I don't know how to read a trace route (I know how to run it, just don't know what all that info means that shows up). Please let me know if you want me to copy/paste a trace route here.

The limits of your router wouldn't have that kind of affect on the game, it just means it can only download information so quickly (in this case, it's enough for the game).

If you have a trace route, you can post it here. It might give more insight into the issue.

OMFG...I just remembered Google Chrome updated a couple days ago, so I uninstalled it just to see if MAYBE it had something to do with my issues and I'll be damned if everything doesn't seem just fine now...or should I say FOR NOW.

And also WHY would that have ANYTHING to do with connectivity on FFXIV?

Because I'd like to reinstall Chrome but I don't want it f-ing up my game again.
