[Suggestion] Casual Dueling

I support this. As long as there's a setting that allows the player to auto-decline duel requests.

In regards to both of these posts: No.

It's not the same. You could, assumedly, opt out of this content. It's like saying, "I don't like that someone might be able to spam me with trade/meld/FC requests, don't add the function" because it is actually the same thing, but then on top of that also having the option available to never even see it while simultaneously complaining about it. There is no parallel.

If it's like every other PVP feature, you'd need to do a quest to unlock it even (you need to do one to unlock the Wolves' Den dueling ring). It would be physically impossible for anyone to even send you a duel request unless you went out of your way to unlock it.

I'm up for casual dueling in overworld zones. I love the idea of going into the desert portion of little ala mhigo and host gladiator themed pvp. Or going to the Dimwold and have spellcasting duels. Features I'd like to include are:

-Auto-decline: This is a natural given. If the argument is that people are still going to be rude about it... I'm not sure how is that any different than all the other types of spam invites we have and the reactions that follow the rejection of those invites.

-PvP friend list: basically a tab that allows you to add people who like having casual duels. With cross-world possible, it'll be hard keeping track of who likes to pvp and who don't.

-Win/Lose Record display as a toggle feature.

If there were specific dueling grounds where it was enabled, and thus anyone who wants to opt out can just choose not to go there? Sure, why not. Just like Triple Triad being restricted to certain locations.

If it were anywhere someone felt like throwing down a challenge? Not interested. It got old in WoW to have high-level people pushing low-levels into it just for shits and giggles, and it'd get old here.

PVP here is different, it syncs you to cap and you have different skills and stats than in PVE. You can't grief or twink low levels.

I would strongly against this. There is nothing more annoying in an MMO than having some jerk chase you around spamming a dueling request at you...

But this could of worked pre 4.0 but now they want PVP to be different skills and hotbars. Quite annoying and took the fun out of it for me. They would have to add the old system back

Not sure I'm up for anywhere anytime dueling. Anyone that has played WoW knows what the outside of Orgrimar is like and outside Stormwind? Personally I always hated the lag as soon as you stepped out because of the duelists and folks watching. Just my Opinion.

Saying that more Arena type places like wolves den could be cool maybe one in each major city. Ul'dah and Ishgard already have one according to lore.

So you go into wolves den... In the 1vs1 arena... The literal only place where you can duel outside of pvp content, and you get duel requests and hate that? Like wtf are you doing there then lmao? That's one of the worst arguments I've heard, that place is solely supposed for that: to have duels with randoms..
Same with the triple triad salon guy, you go into the area where people do their triple triad tournament and seriously except nobody gonna play the card game with you? Like why are you even there if not for the card game...?

On a more serious note, even if we say it would be implemented, PvP adjusts your HP down to 10-20k HP. Mobs could one shot you, you don't really have a level either, you are not supposed to take critical dmg and what else... So if they make you immune to mobs, it could be abused maybe and lead to griefing .. Not good.
It needs more natural 1vs1 or 4vs4 duel casual arenas in the open world at a few places(a gc place like one for flames/adders/mael, where they train their recruits, gives it some lore too) but not the ability to duel everywhere(because pvp skills and pve just differ to greatly to coexist on the same map)

Yeah, totally. It's not annoying at all for random people to harass you with duel requests when you're there to duel with a friend, and then have said idiots continue spamming you when you've clearly stated to them no. It's sucha shite reason. I totally agree 101%.

Lets be a drama queen about it and use words like "harass" I imagine you push the GM button alot..
