Take into account the launch price of the PS4 at $399, and a TV that can even use all the features being around $699. Price looks damned similar to me. Games are cheaper for her on PC as well, she can use her Xbox and PS4 controller on her PC by just plugging it in as well.
Now, make it a TV that can match a good monitors refresh rate AND a PS4 Pro. Yah... Over twice as much as her simple build I did for her...
Building a PC isn't as expensive as people think. People don't need a GTX 2080ti and a Threadripper X like I have with 64GB of memory and a Samsung CHG90 gaming ultra widescreen monitor.
But, if they had what I do, no console in the next ten years would match it.
