    Any chance we can get Trust system as open world content?

    Now I know this is more of a future idea. If they do it. It would be unlikely to see it in Shadowbringers.

    One things I did kinda with the Shadowbringers story. Was how we go around with the Scions and yet they really did not do anything but stand around. While we did their busy body work. I would have loved to see us replace our out of date chocobo companion with one of our trust companions.

    They end up giving us a quest and just sit there waiting for us to turn it in. How cool would it be to have them fighting by your side. When you are done with the quest. You can just turn in the quest right there.

    I know it not a big deal. Yet I would love to see more then just a dungeon trust system.

    As much as I love Shadowbringers story. It did make the Sions out of dungeons looks like they are incompetent and lazy.

    But there isn't really anything open-world to do with them...? I don't really see the point. Do you want to grind FATEs with them alongside you, I guess?

    I think is not going to happen in near future if i remember right they said that they made the trust for msq stuff for this exp

    Well, the FFXI version gets around that by outright stating that they're not the actual NPCs you're using but simply a magical construct you're summoning to your side (think Carbuncle but with a famous npc), with a preset set of commands and actions to use (and limited robotic dialogue). There was even an official story on the FFXI website that shows a Trust NPC summoned by an 'adventurer' meeting the actual npc it's based on, with the npc not too impressed with her magical dopelganger.

    But yeah, as others have said, there is virtually no need for the Trust system open-world here as the Chocobo Companion system already satisfies that.

    I just hate the Chocobo Companion. It was a pretty stupid system to bring in. I do not remember Cloud fighting Sephiroth with a chocobo. I do not remember Tina fighting Kefka with a Chocobo. I do not remember Tidus fighting Sin with a chocobo. I do nto remember a chocobo becoming one of the Warriors of Light to fight Exdeath. I could go on and on. Point being Chocobo Companions do not belong in the game.

    Single-player FF games do not count though as you're usually playing as a party of player characters not just one. The FF MMOs have a different design paradigm which is meant to be you controlling a single character in parties alongside other players), but does have options for solo-content, which for open-world content here in FFXIV is the Chocobo Companion (FFXI had it's NPC Fellow originally and now has the Trust System). I agree that having a chocobo fight alongside you.... is rather underwhellming and would like an alternative (I personally would prefer to have my old Path Companion return from FFXIV 1.0), but I think Yoshi has made his choice and thus alas we will not see a change to the Chocobo Companion.

    Apparently there was rumours that the GC Squadron would be usable in open-world content but that has never eventuated either sadly.

    Also FF Tactics allows you to recruit chocobos to your party and have them fight as controllable units in battle, but that was a strategy RPG that does things differently to the 'main' FF series so it doesn't really count.

    Cloud fought sephiroth with a remote control mascot and a sentient dog. Bartz fought Exdeath with a 6 year old girl. Firion fought the emperor with a mentally simple man who speaks mole. Terra fights (or doesn't fight) Kefka with a little girl, a flamboyantly dressed mime, and a yeti.

    Need I go on? There's nothing wrong with having a chocobo fight with you

    It a shame we got stuck with the dumb bird. As it pretty much useless. It can not hold agro as a tank. It healing is trash and it dps is trash. At less with the trust system they can do their job. If you where to go into a dungeon with 3 Chocobos. Well you are screwed.
