Haven't been following tanks much but this just sounds like their general policy across the board. trying to homogenize the problem kids as much as possible.
I miss the Low blow procs i really wish something like that would come back
SB tbn was a terrible replacement
Even if they brought back scourge and gave it a Dot mechanic like Mage ballad for Carve and Split or Abyssal drain
Also wish we had some say with Living Shadow's move set
I like ShB DRK way more than SB DRK, I like how it plays now but I know it has issues, people aren't happy with Delirium and I totally understand since its basically IR without the DH/Crits, MP gains feel slow with the 1 combo, Living Dead still exists and Dark Mind is still situational, they don't get TBN till lvl 70. For what it is though I still prefer DRK over GNB since I have those both at 80 I love how both play and I've raided as both but still DRK pulls ahead for me, its true PLD and GNB have better tools than it as well as having better "Oh crap" CDs like Hallowed/Superbolide vs LD.
I love the new DRK but it feels like its a good base for what they can build on for the future was this the rework that DRK needed? I can't answer that but for myself I think it's a good rework and in better shape than SB since that xpac I rerolled WAR and never touched DRK till the end of SB after lvling it first in that xpac.
For my wishlist:
-Leveling needs to be adjusted give us a weaker TBN and then goes into a trait at 70 to be TBN, can even use the old Shadowskin animation
-MP gains in PvP are 1000, while PvE MP gains are 600 make them both 1000
-Living Dead needs to be changed
-Dark Mind can be changed to all dmg at 10% on a recast similar to RI/HoS, the nerf from 30%>20% was unjustified as its very situational
-Salted Earth needs to be tweaked, very weak, ground targeted AoE, it being ground targeted makes it very awkward, bring back Scourge or change it
I share the exact same sentiments. HW Dark Knight was my favorite version of the job. Then SB forced you to rely on Dark Arts too much which led to the job feeling incredibly clunky. While ShB's version of the job isn't like HW, I still find it far better than what we got last expansion. Edge/Flood of Shadow have much more impact personally compared to DAing everything.I much prefer the current iteration of DRK over how heavy the DA spam version in SB was. But HW was still the best iteration of DRK, and I frown on SE for ever destroying it like they did when we went from HW to SB. It went from my favorite tank to my least favorite, and now it's back to my favorite. I WOULD like Delirium to be better or more original, but I'm okay with what we have now (but Delirium really could stand to be more unique tbh).

As is, I find DRK to be functionable and there are improvements. However, some of those improvements are shared by the other tanks and not exclusive to DRK. I find that the engaging play that was there in SB is missing.
I wondered if the lack of engaging play was attributed to loss of DA spam, changes to Delirium and Blood Weapon, loss of Blood Price, TBN shatter giving 50 blood, no longer having to switch stances, etc. Then I realized it was a combination of all of it. With the exception of DA spam, these were all things I really enjoyed about playing DRK and I would gladly go back to DA spam to have my SB DRK back.
I'm not overly upset by the changes, and I still feel like a tank. I just don't feel like a DRK. I think the devs have leaned on the aesthetics of this job for too long. I don't think anyone will question how the job looks, but how it plays is a whole different story. If the devs can get it to play as beautifully as it looks; it could arguably be one of the best jobs in the game.
Just stopping by to say that I'm so glad to be seeing ACTUAL discussions happening on this post. Most people here are taking stances and writing in length about why they feel said way without tainting their responses with stupid personal attacks and insults - I can tell that those who are commenting respect one another. Some are also able to see the other side's perspective and others are even throwing out suggestions on how to make DRK better.

I'm sorry but I can not agree with you, I like the new DK, I just wish they change The living dead but that's it. Let's be honest, people here will never be happy with anything, no matter the changes Dk gets you will never be happy.
DRK is a carbon copy of WAR at this point and I can guarantee you I’d be much happier with the current state of the job if they brought back a lot of the unique elements the job had back in HW.
