What happened to all that? Was it scrapped off? It seemed so great. The only thing I've seen ever since was the " bard " which tbh is what I cared the least about.

Just wanted to chime in...

You guys are absolutely right with your assessment of the situation. Similar questions were answered by Yoshi-P just last week when he was in L.A. to do a slew of interviews with the media and various websites. Basically, the main scenario (the Echo, the Ascians, the Waking Sands, your Path companion, etc.) will continue once the people of Eorzea have figured out how to deal with the coming calamity first.

I'm more concerned with Limsa's plotline with Leviathan, Seal Rock, the Sahagin, that evil Elezen and the Miqo'te from Sharlayan.

I do hope the original storylines make a strong comeback by the final patch before 2.0. I almost want to roll a second character long enough to do the two questlines up until they converge in Ul'dah. Wish I had done it before billing started. :/

I was curious about this. Setting aside the echo, I'm thinking, "Ul'dah plot what happens." Come to find out everything else I do is unrelated and focused on at The Path.

It's like watching a good pilot episode, then the rest of the series leaves all pilot plots open.

As was posted before, the main scenario is on hold because Eorzea is gonna get blown up by the Dalamud, stopping that is more important than playing with the echo (even though it seems like no one has noticed the huge red ball of death in the sky.)

I might be incorrect, but I was always under the impression that the stories were basically dropped and then unified into the mess of a storyline so they could rush the game out.

Limsa always looked like it was the most fleshed out, then Ul'dah looked like it had a bit of time spent with it... but poor Gridania.

I hope the main scenario gets major revamping for 2.0 otherwise I think the quality issues will really deter and upset players.

There on hold until 2.0, we need the seventh umbral era event because thats whats going to change the face of Eorzea for 2.0, the devs wanna focus on that to get it done on time.
