    Smaller Teams in Frontlines

So I was doing some Frontlines earlier today, and had a couple games where it made an 8v8v8 due to not enough people queuing. I found it much more enjoyable then the standard 24v24v24. The smaller groups allow for more tactics beyond blind zerg the objective, and allow individual skill to be more of a factor. I'm not melee but I'd imagine it makes it more fun for them too.

I think they should just make it 8v8v8 all of the time; it would certainly improve queue times if nothing else. What do you guys think?

But the downside to 8v8v8 is that one person totally slacking or AFKing hurts the team way more than it would in 24v24v24. I'd rather not lose just because one idiot is throwing and no one else is communicating except one person who says "go here" and then doesn't even go there.

Well, that'll be a problem in any PvP mode. With 8 man teams though, one person can carry more effectively, so you got that, at least.

This is the reason that i try to join FL's before/after prime time.
72 Man boils down to who have most premades vs who have more solo's.

Not saying that premades vs solos ain't a problem in 24 man but at least you can affect the outcome so much more.

Small match really doesn't solve the problem. Premades runs around prime time in your DC, only way to win pug matches is still to avoid that timezone. One way that's legit will work is limiting premades to 2 people per queue, like Feast Training or Rival Wings (6 teams of 4). That's assuming they still enforce freelance when queueing as party.

Yeah, usually I do prefer PvP with big numbers but here in FFXIV I did have more fun in 8v8v8 as well. Wouldn't mind having the option to join either 8v8v8 or 24v24v24.
