I could have sworn I remember reading somewhere that they were thinking of making the drop rate on totem/nuts 100% but decreasing the amount that drop. So right now there's a low % drop on potentially 8 of them, the change would give us a 100% drop rate on let's say 4 of them (making up that number for the sake of the example).
I totaly agree.Hundreds of people pointed out that Primal drop system is broken, disheartening and annoying. And with 1.21 patch nothing has changed... Today I made 3 runs of Moogle with a new friend who never cleared it, he dropped 2 weapons! I'm still stucked a 1 only weapon after 60+ runs... I'm losing hopes about Primal fights, and don't feel excited at all about Garuda's fight incoming. These things ruin the game experience of players. Please check it!
P.S.
People prefer to complain about Anima...
The Nut charms and totems were supposed to fix this so unlucky players who did a lot of runs would always be able to get all the wepons. It was a simple idea yet they messed it up completely. the totems and nuts needed to be 100% drop. if you did 20 moogle runs with no luck on wepons at least you had 20 nuts to hand in for all that hard work. Instead we have a system were a new player can get lucky and get loads of wepons in a few runs and a veteran player can do 50+ runs and maybe still only have 1 or 2 or even no wepons. They did it on purpose if you can pass the nut charms why not the wepons also.
about the only difference between this post and my issue is that i am still stuck at 6/7 lol. believe me i know how you feel. i refuse to run moogle at all because of the horrid drop rate on ifrit weapons. i ran moogle 3 tries and got the speed kill and completion and haven't been in another party since then.

Would not be surprised to see an increase in nut drops in a patch for 1.21a/b/c
To be fair SE knows how to do the basic math on the ifrit/moogle drop rates. They know what it takes to get all drops/your desired drop. If they made the loot system exchangable/tradable inside the instance they would have just nerfed the drop rates. They want you to do 200~225 runs to get all the 7 weapons. 180 runs was the 50% rate for being 7/7 (ex on avg half the population will be 7/7 after 180 successful runs).
Also the ifrit weapons/moogle weapons are nearly all BIS and they are a very sizable increase in DPS over the seals/crafted counterparts. Why should the best weapons in game be easy to get?
Personally I wish we got 1 chest and it was a 25% drop rate but tradable. I would gladly spam ifrit and give the drop to whoever needed it most. Its about the same amount of runs to get a full group 7/7 (around 200 runs).
Drop for moogle and ifrit have significant increased since 1.21
Every single run I have been in has dropped at LEAST 1 weapon to the party. Usually and occasionally 3.
But it has been a guaranteed drop every run! so you have a 1 in 8 chance of something \o/
You're just lucky, nothing was changed at all... Or we would have been told that it was changed. There is no point for SE to "ninja fix" something like this without letting players know since it's a "positive" change.
Antipika.
