they really need to make everyone get the inferno lamp like always if you want a weapon but they also need to make it where each person always get a totem. you would still need 70 wins to get each weapon.
or they just need to clone FFXI's avatar battle reward system, where you win and pick from a list of rewards you can only get one per win and only one time.
See? Then, when you log in you see that message saying to think about your real life... right.
Also, I stopped doing the fight because it is frustrating and not rewarding. I still do content that is fun but that I have acquired all the stuff I wanted in, why? Because there are good memories attached to it, not frustrations.
You are the exception, don't make a rule out of it.

I think you're exactly right with your assessment -- they are well aware that many people are frustrated with the system, but they will not change it because it is the only thing keeping a lot of people busy.I never said it was good, it's not like I am enjoying it don't get me wrong... But we all know the drill. No proper content until 2.0 (could it be quantity or quality), so in the meantime everything is done on the dev side to keep player's busy with little. Meaning try and recycle things, make sure players do not advance too quickly etc.
There are tons of way which don't require any effort from dev to make the system better and again nothing is done, why? This issue has been raised several times, across all regions. So either devs want you to play the game this way either... they want you to play the game this way. I don't see any other possibility here.
It is a very annoying system for the players, but it is what we have and SE is obviously reluctant to change it right now.
The time SE thought they would have after launch to continually add new content was completely diverted to fixing things and now concurrently rebuilding the game from the ground up.
So they are stuck with the difficult resource balancing act of trying to add new content to the current system and giving players something to do, while at the same time trying to salvage the game and make something better for the future.
This drop system is probably partly a result of their current situation.
Some people seem to ignore that SE did the exact same thing for the 2 new dungeons as well now.
Sure, each chest after final boss has a "guaranteed" drop...but instead of making them a set 2 possible items per chest you get like on Darkhold, they added green common stuff that drops almost everytime AND the blue Darklight gear that roughly drops 1/10 times if not worse. Just think of the amount of runs you'd have to to get everyone their Darklight gear they need.
And unlike Primals, a dungeon run takes roughly 30min(if you go for speedrun <25)...so thats like 2 times as much time invested as on a primal fight with pretty much the same chance to get a darklight equip piece like a primal weapon, prolly worse even...
Like it was said before...SE is well aware of the fact that this loot and drop system is annoying, frustrating and highly unrewarding, but they keep it for exact that reason, cause it makes you go in there two hundred times, which gives them more time to stretch content...IMO still a bad decision...but what can you do...SE is not doing anything because they can't, but because they don't want to...so no point in complaining, as it will change nothing until SE thinks it's ok to "tweak" the loot system.
PS: A 100% drop chance on totem/nut charm would have been sufficient, but they just don't want to...
I agree with this, me and my friends have zero interest in Moogle/Ifrit due to the shitty drop system. Its as bad as the Fatigue system lol
And now we will likely have more of no interest soon as AF weapons come out, so for us, the developers introduced 2 crappy pieces of content that we dont take part in XD.
I hosted a 14 hour plus Ifrit run with some buddies and a few randoms from town and we won a majority of the runs fairly easily. I got about 3-4 totems, another Ifrit's Harpoon, and two Ifrit's Claws in a row.
I would like to give/hand the duplicates over to someone else who needs them, but that is impossible. The Moogle fight I've never been in before. So I can't comment on that one, but I heard from my friends that you need 20 kupo nuts, opposed to the 10 totems you need for Ifrit weapons. I got a several more wins after that 14 hour run and got 1 totem. So I have 5/10 now.
I love fighting Ifrit so much, it's a lot of fun, especially when everyone is really good and knows what they're doing. However, I have to agree with to OP, it would be lovely if you can get a totem to be a 100% drop every win. And the weapons can be given to another player in the instance after you win, if you already possess that primal weapon.

ifrit is piss now and if u have Jerbird in ur pt makes ifrit laughable
