i'm more wondering if the q&a team plays patches before they are released or not. it seems everytime they patch something in game you have multiple emergency maintenances right after to fix the fix they put in and then follow that with an additional one to fix that.I have been wondering that alot lately, if the people that make the game really play it for enjoyment. The only rep I can recall mentioning their player was "Rukkirii". But more then likely we will never hear a rep say the things we say cause 1 they would probably be terminated and 2 if a rep really did say something along the lines like "yeah the whole Ifrit system is really crappy" that alone could cause serious damage. Positive or negative damage is anyone's guess.

I'm sure if they want to say something they would of said it directly at the devs since I'm hoping SE's work environment is open like other gaming companies where they take as much info to improve. Was thinking they can login with different character without SE knowing but that's kind of dumb/childish lol. If I was working for SE and I had problems other players are facing I would let them know my concerns along with other players concerns posted on this forum.
Not sure if as a XIV DEV, you want to use the little spare time you have playing the game "normally" (i.e. in a normal environement, meaning like any other customers, without anyone knowing you are a dev, normal character etc.)
Reps or even translators is a different story, they don't make the game, so playing it is definitely more enjoyable since they don't know all the mechanisms behind it (well translators would be spoiled a bit since they know text obviously), but can still enjoy gameplay.
But it's kind of hard to enjoy content -you- designed with a bunch of random players (who most likely are often doing it wrong) as you remain anonymous, there is no way to tell them how it is supposed to be done :d Must be so frustrating. Like enter a new raid dungeon, you know all the mechanisms, but you see everyone trying different strategy and failing, but you must remain silent

Reason for this is probably S*** S**** and Ta***a and Ko***to were being asses and didn't care what the dev had to say, or they were being told by person above that W**a to just release the damn game and ended up in 1.0 hell. Look at all the pre 1.0 intereviews... those main 3 praised FFXIV to be sooo damn awesome and even showed fake (unfinished) video's to make it look like it's all in there.
I'm just hoping Yoshida is a lot more open to listening to the teams, reading Yoshida's interviews he sounded like he knows the problem and really going to fix the game in 2.0 although some of the stuff released in patches with new team still makes me go WTF!? time to time.
Yeah but I mean you were talking of SE as a company (comparing to others in the industry), hence my comment. I am not saying that Yoshida doesn't listen to his team etc,it can only be better than before for sure. (Not hard anyway.) If the devs are unwilling to change the loot system so that you can pass weapons to any player of choice can they please see if it possible to put in a loot checker when the system hands out weapons? (just weapons)
Something like :-
Ifrits Battleaxe drops to Player A
Inventory check, does Player A already have Ifrits Battleaxe within there inventory? Y/N?
Yes - re-roll %chance to current players within the party minus player A (repeat this command until the query = N)
No - Hand weapon to player *
That will keep the no passing rule alive which will keep totems valid but also means it gets rid of the very frustrating duplicate drops.

I don't know about anyone else, but my personal experience from this thread and the response from the devs has made me not want to do any primal battles at all. If I have to fight a primal and win at least 100 times to get a slight chance at the weapon I want, or possibly even more battles to get the required totems....what's the use? If a new primal comes out by the time I've gotten only one weapon from Ifrit I have to do it all over again with the same horrible drop rate and the inability for me to pass weapons I don't want to party members.
I'm seriously done with primal fights until there's a better solution.

what's worst is that they really don't listen to us... there's hundreds replies saying we need better drop rates and they just reduce the (insane) amount of nuts needed for mog weapons.. lol
I am 7/7 on Ifrit, and I only got 1 weapon from totems... so I got 6 weapons BEFORE getting enough totems to buy 1 ahahahahaha.
If they did nothing it would have been better.

Yes, too logical for SE indeed...oh wait they created a perfect reward system for these kind of fights before. They can change it easily if they want, but they already stated it's being revised for 2.0.
