As if DEVs weren't aware of this issue, including Yoshida himself. Stop taking them for idiots :/ They played other MMORPGs, they know how it works and that the current system is crap.

Why does it remain in place then? Check the current state of XIV, with little to no content at all... The only reason people are still doing Ifrit or Mog today is because (or thanks to) the bad drop system...

If we were to have a proper system which would in the end, raise the chance for players to obtain the weapon of their choice, then no one would even bother to do that content again (me the first). That's also why we never received a proper "dev answer" regarding this "issue" (more like game design decision), because DEVs can't say "Hey guys look, our game is so empty that we are forced to find stupid methods to virtually increase its lifetime..."

Modifying drop rate of existing content can be done without the need of a full maintenance... Yet nothing is done, because DEVs wants you to play the game this way.

Hmm, I don't think this is a good argument. I can understand your point if you refer to 1.19, when you could do only Ifrit and Ifrit again. (And I want to rember you that even with Dzemael, that was the only content before patch, drop system was right)
Now, after people have fought 120+ runs of Ifrit to get all the weapons you really think that someone would begin again to fight Moogle 100+ times?!

You're wrong, people stop doing Ifrit or Mog because of bad drop system. Please check this!!!

I agree with this, me and my friends have zero interest in Moogle/Ifrit due to the shitty drop system. Its as bad as the Fatigue system lol

And now we will likely have more of no interest soon as AF weapons come out, so for us, the developers introduced 2 crappy pieces of content that we dont take part in XD.

Just because it artificially extends the life of the content doesn't mean it's a good system though. If that is the true intention then they're simply trying to stretch short content with awful drop rates. Not a good way to go about it IMO.

At the very least, if they do nothing else, they should tweak the system so that if a player gets a drop that they already have, it is put into their loot list instead so that they may pass it to another player.

I never said it was good, it's not like I am enjoying it don't get me wrong... But we all know the drill. No proper content until 2.0 (could it be quantity or quality), so in the meantime everything is done on the dev side to keep player's busy with little. Meaning try and recycle things, make sure players do not advance too quickly etc.

There are tons of way which don't require any effort from dev to make the system better and again nothing is done, why? This issue has been raised several times, across all regions. So either devs want you to play the game this way either... they want you to play the game this way. I don't see any other possibility here.

I think you're exactly right with your assessment -- they are well aware that many people are frustrated with the system, but they will not change it because it is the only thing keeping a lot of people busy.

It is a very annoying system for the players, but it is what we have and SE is obviously reluctant to change it right now.

The time SE thought they would have after launch to continually add new content was completely diverted to fixing things and now concurrently rebuilding the game from the ground up.

So they are stuck with the difficult resource balancing act of trying to add new content to the current system and giving players something to do, while at the same time trying to salvage the game and make something better for the future.

This drop system is probably partly a result of their current situation.

They may not be idiots... but they sure are slow. Drop rate % is one of the most easiest changes that can be made... especially when the issue is isolated to 1-2 specific instances. It's not like we're asking for every single mob of every single zone to have their drop rates changed.
