I propose having a month long PvP event that happens quarterly throughout the year. The exact timing and length can be adjusted, but the idea is to give folks an incentive to try PvP just like Garo did, while not overstaying its welcome and souring the matches because of the folks that are just playing for the grind.
Garo was hugely successful in introducing a lot of new blood to our various PvP modes. Many folks started just wanting to grind for the mounts, but many are also stating that they will stick to PvP after the event is done simply because it's fun.
But there are also those that mindlessly grind for the rewards which lead to unbalanced matches giving players a sour opinion on PvP.
By making more PvP events like Garo, but shortening their length, we can reach a better balance when it comes to introducing new players into PvP and "forcing" players to grind for a reward.
By doing a quarterly event with a unique reward you will give players an incentive to give PvP a shot - many of which will choose to stick with the mode and help grow our already small community.
Those that were only grinding for the mount will get their mount within the month then clear up the matches to (hopefully) give folks that do PvP for enjoyment instead of the grind will get better quality matches.
If anyone has feedback or suggestions please share them in a civil manner and I can edit the OP as necessary.
Editing in tldr / my reply further down since there's a lot of confusion in regards to what I'm actually suggestion/
tldr:
To reiterate in less words what the idea is since there's a lot of confusion.
This is NOT a ranked season, or a community ran event. What I'm suggesting is that SE holds a "Garo Lite" (name not final) on a regular basis to encourage folks to TRY PvP with a shiny carrot. What the reward is will be for SE to decide.
The idea is that folks will flock to the various PvP modes to farm, the ones that find they actually enjoy PvP will stick around and grow our community, the ones that are just there for the grind get their shinies and stop playing.
The outcome of this is; new members to a small community. Better matchmaking once the "farmers only" folks are done and leave queue.
