This is the kind of healer I'd like to see too. Silver lining to Dancer ending up as a DPS... as it was such a popularly requested job... there's a chance way may actually get this.

Personally I want to see the chemist with a gun myself, like the ffx-2 and ff tactics versions. I often play around with the idea of a gun that either shoots chemical darts like Overwatch's Ana, or does some mumbo jumbo stuff with your aether to make the chemicals you utilize, or even both.
Like their "cast animation" for their heals can be them inserting a vial into the side of the gun, "filling" it with the desired potion, and tossing said vial at an ally. Or even just have them pull the potions out of hammer space and toss them, while their attack spells are different chemical rounds they shoot at the enemy. They can even get a level 1 trait that makes their auto attacks scale with mind and instant attacks, albeit at lower potency to accommodate the fact they have a ranged auto (Although if they insist on cast times, they can just have the chemist aiming and firing like mch did in 3.0)
I just want a healer with an actual weapon myself lol. Even if it's just white mage with non magic-looking animations.
While I'm not saying they wont add Chemist/Salve-maker in the future, they'd have to figure out the Mix system. They weren't able to get it the way they envisioned, and that's why it was reworked as AST. Just think we could of had a Chemist since HW, T.T
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
I feel that chemist should definitely be considered. it's one of the original healers of the series, and was one of the few jobs that could compete with WHM healing power.
The most popular chemist of the series is rikku so I definitely think the job should be inspired by her, maybe give us the claw weapons she use with hooks that shoot out?
As a former alchemist main in Ragnarok Online, I fully approve.
Also, that class had Cart Cannon, where you morphed your little supply cart into a magitek phaser. I want to see that!
I would just like to throw potions at people and see an animation of that person getting hit in the head. That would make my day and instant new main!
I totally approve. Also, the gun as weapon is not a bad idea.
I would like to see channel healing in this game - something that is a norm on other MMORPG, but I hardly see one in FF universe (except Fairy's fey union). Basically, you shoot a stream of healing liquid to the target which acts like a high potency healing over time.
They did say they considered it back then, but my impression wasn't that they didn't go with chemist because they couldn't figure it out.
And anyways, we all know what a problem AST has been on a fundamental level when it overlaps so much with WHM. Regardless of the extra system bolted on besides its heals. Hopefully SE has learned from that, and will avoid the same fundamental mistakes.
It would also be interesting if they had a moveset similar to dancer - in that Dancer you have to hit certain steps to get the proper buff, for this new class you would have to hit a series of potion making abilities that trigger off of a certain move (i.e. Dancer's Standard Step) and if you don't make the potion correctly it could have positive, negative, or uncertain affects upon use. You could choose to chunk the whole potion which would waste healing output or use it and see what happens.
If I Lose Learn; If I Win Teach
I play Akris Roman on Zodiark (Light) Server
I also want alchemist healer which use potion as healing method, but i also suggest that their healing style will focus to regen, i know that for now WHM has the most powerful regen spells out of all 3 healer, but that not enough
let see what if alchemist has stackable regen as a main heal spell, you cast that spell like 4 or 5 time on target, each time will give them a buff stack and increase healing power, you can also has some instance heal spell but they are only for emergency situation, that healer will need sometime for their healing to wind up first but once it set, you can have more time to DPS, even better if their DPS focus on DOT spell, which will fit nicely with their healing style
