How do I get Character Avatar back?

Some time ago I switched from the lodestone avatar that shows your actual character to one of the default thumbnails that were available when lodestone first launched. I'd like to switch back to my character's face as my avatar, but I can't find that option anywhere. All I see in "Edit Avatar" is "Do not use an avatar" or "Generic Avatars"

How do I get my cute red pigtails back?

(followup question: the reason I switched avatar originally is because I noticed some people have different angles in their lodestone avatar, I was looking for a way to pick a different camera angle. Some people are shot from head on, some people are slightly profile. I guess this is just a difference in the races/clans?)

I'm also having a problem with this. Posting this as a test to see if my character avatar shows up. So far I cannot get it to work in the settings

Nope guess not. It is showing a generic avatar. But if I remove this one I have no avatar at all. Can someone fix this?

lol I've had this problem as well. Currently my avatar is set to one of the old ones, but it does actually show up as just me to everyone else on the forums. Sometimes when I finish writing a post it's the old avatar, but once I edit it or reload the page it's my character again.

EDIT: Example, I hit Alt+S to post this, and it used the old avatar (and one of my gold medals disappeared, but w/e). All of the character, world, class details were also missing. I then refreshed the page to reload the thread, and now my character avatar and all its info appears. It'll probably go away when I hit save after this edit though.

EDIT2: Yep. But I think it'll come back after a second edit, no refresh.

EDIT3: I was wrong. Looks like the old avatar stays until I refresh the page.

EDIT4: There's a really embarrassing thread somewhere on the New Players Forum I made a while back that's just me talking to myself and posting asking about this very issue and getting quite confused.

No avatar appears after posting or editing a post. If you refresh the page, it shows up. Also, all of you guys' avatars are showing up properly for me, so I can only assume it's cached internet stuff if it's showing up incorrectly for you.
