I think this varies for each person, but personally, when I was checking it, I thought it was just bread. When you go to a bakery, there's that moment when you see something and you're like "I have to have this one!" It’s kind of like that. I think it’s probably sweet. I think what you would imagine as "I have to have this!" is what meol is. Though, if you eat it, you might become a Forgiven...

I thought someone was gonna say that Eden is female, finally. I swear every time I run part of the raid, my group keeps saying he, and it irks me. It's not like Eden is an unknown, it's confirmed female from VIII.

I think it's implied that Eden is genderless and more of a construct than anything. I like the theory that Eden is a garden from the future (Garden of Eden) and by that logic would essentially be a weaponised fortress. You could argue that the mantle on the front makes it female, but by that logic then old ships have genders.
