No point in bumping it on the weekend...
Actually there is. If I can get people talking in this thread again, it will show the devs when they get back on Monday that this thread has been buzzing again. I'm sorry but I wasn't going to wait until Monday to necro a thread. I wouldn't remember by then.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
I see level sync on FFXIV after 5 or more years, not now. Also level sync on xi made terrible players
Guildleves made terrible players ^^ if they add level sync now they can ensure that all content is balanced for it and future content made with it in mind to stop exploits like Astral Burning in FFXI. Also FFXIV will not have the problems that FFXI had of players with weapons not capped as that system does not exsist in FFXIV
Agreed. I'd like to see them come up with a Level-sync system that would better prevent people from leveling 20-70 in the same spot so that they know how to do their jobs in the higher levels.Guildleves made terrible players ^^ if they add level sync now they can ensure that all content is balanced for it and future content made with it in mind to stop exploits like Astral Burning in FFXI. I dunno really usually a sync makes the players huddle only in few zones.
Maybe just keep working on the LFP tools so it's as easy as possible to find a group?
I don't want Level Sync so I can go find random lowbies and party with them. I want level sync because I want to be able to party with a lower level friend on the class of my choosing. I don't want to have to switch to a new class just because they are, or if they need a tank I can go help them out because they can't find one.

While I understand the merit of people who criticize XI's leve sync as breeding "bad players" (A notion that SE answered by giving us abyssea, a breeding ground for even less skilled players =P) the scenario in XIV is drastically different than XI.
This is likely to change in the future but since casual content is at least acknowledged in this game, the ability to solo as a viable method of leveling will most likely always remain. At the current state of affairs a good handful of people [i[do[/i] solo to 50. Well this poises a very naughty problem once you reach 50 and decide to do group-based endgame. The way you play your chosen class may change drastically once you are in a party; and players who have been predominantly soloing/duoing to 50 will be completely unaware to how to play in a group. For this reason I am in favor of a type of "level sync" because it will make 1-49 partying more viable and will at least expose most people to the party environment so come actual group content at endgame they won't be completely unfamiliar with it. At this point it could only breed better players.
Hey ashelyI am gonna have to agree with you on this one. Point is not enough people were xping at lower levels and you needed a group to level up especially if they added all these jobs and you want to level something new up yourself. You would be stuck with no pt for idk how long. Idk how well it would do in XIV but it wasnt a throw in the towel move by SE imo.but regardless I agree with you, but not so much with what kilta was saying. In a sense it is easy mode as you're taking someone with more experience and letting them take away from that learning curve that they had to go through. But regardless I agree with you ash mainly because towards the later years of XI parties at lowbie levels were stupid hard to find... So it was a good thing, not a game breaker until they awarded full exp for all levels.. they should have gimped that. Granted they didn't want people to feel like they're wasting their time, however don't bread a new generation of quifim 75-ers either.. just my 2 cents.. I don't know if I would like the same level sync in this game though...

Spoiled the crap out of players is what it did, but I guess a spoiled player could be considered a terrible player as well.Guildleves made terrible players ^^ if they add level sync now they can ensure that all content is balanced for it and future content made with it in mind to stop exploits like Astral Burning in FFXI.
