    Where is my level sync

Level sync was the BEST idea SE ever had in an MMO. FFXI and now FFIV community members pride themselves on being more community orientated then other games. As such why are we segragating our commnity? If I have 40 hours a week to paly and my buddy has 20 why can't I freaking play with him when I want? He wants to tank I want to heal, pretty basic stuff, they had it in XI and I want it in XIV

agreed, when asked in the interviews they were asked about level sync, and said it would be brought over along with other ideas that worked well in FFXI. It never appeared.

I kinda miss it alot, hard to bring your friends into the game without a new char yourself if your classes are all ranked way beyond them. :/

I gotta say, I am so happy level sync doesn't exist. XIV would simply benefit from some new DoW/M classes that would allow people to rank up something new with friends at a variety of levels. I feel that Level Sync was pretty much the point in time where SE started to throw in the towel on XI and turn it into full-on easy mode. And for what purpose? So that when you go to do some endgame activity or some intense co-op mission and you pick up a tank, you learn that he's only ever been synced to 30ish parties? Lovely. I'm not singling out tanks either...I've seen it with every role. Thanks, but I've seen enough of that from one game...

i understand your reasoning, but it doesn't apply the same way here, as on XI abilities were locked off when you synced downward so the tactics involving higher tier skills weren't explored the same.

in XIV, you can take a top tier skill and slot it on a fresh class, so it really doesn't make much of a difference aside from allowing friends and family to group together. With how easy it is to rank up now anyway, it's not that big an issue, and would fit well into current partying mechanics. Especially with the party recruitment feature being so weak and cumbersome.

I can understand where your coming from but they only added level sync because FFXI game design was flawed. Its design didn't take into account peoples lives so years later(once WoW released) the amount of subs dropped and a lot of people just bought WoW instead. I doubt they will implement a level sync since they want people to grow and explore not abuse a feature and level in one area.

A lot of features they added in XI later in years was to cover up the holes SE didn't prepare for. If WoW never came out you could probably say FFXI would have hit the millions but Blizzard changed the MMO genre. Leaving FFXI to try and plug up holes to a sinking ship.

I loved playing FFXI for all my 7 years but sometimes you just gotta see things for what it is.

Level Sync was when FFXI became terrible. People would lvl 20-75 in Qufim or SMN burn 10-75. And that's all they would do.

No one would group anywhere else. I came back to 11 to level up Bard to 75, bought top of the line gear, loved ranking 1-20, then gave up around Lvl30 when I realized from like 18-30 was the exact same thing I mana burned my alts BLM 20-75 on (Crabs in Qufim). Much like the Doblyns in 14... when the sp in the game is unbalanced, you can be garaunteed people will exploit it, regardless of whether it's not fun or not, because gaining SP the fastest most mind numbing way possible > a creative slower route.

EDIT: This is just my take on the subject anyways.

This is true. It was when level sync was introduced that I started to drift away from the game that I had been sooo immersed in since US release. Level sync, WotG, abyssea, etc. pretty much ruined the game for me. Please do not add level sync :\

Blame the developers for making garbage like toramas and tigers insanely difficult to fight at appropriate level. And manticores and catoblepas. And raptors. Also for scaling monster stats to ridiculous levels after the 50s.

I vote yes on level sync, by the way.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

lol exactly. The problem wasn't level sync but the other variables SE didn't consider and refused to fix after it was added.
People will not agree with that though until there is a game that does it right. GW2 maybe?

So you would have rather have solo'd your entire way to 75? Because without level sync no way would you have been able to decently find a group of people all around the same level unless you had hours upon hours to sit lfg constantly searching and hoping that you could catch someone your level range that just logged on.

Also FFXI was never about 1-75 it was just pushing your way through the grind to get to 75 so that you could then participate in all the end game content. Also if you were going 20-75 in Qufim you were doing it wrong. Level sync parties still moved camps because as you got higher level you got access to better skills and camps for exping.

It was a great tool that brought in many more players then there would have been if it wasn't there. Honestly the game would have gone on sure because there were many many people all at cap that did not want to abandon all of their hours of hard work to get were they are but the game simply would have been stagnant, no influx of new players.

TL;DR Level sync was great but this game doesn't need it yet, maybe in a few level cap increases, maybe.
