Yet so many players did it. Why do we need level sync? Just to party with friends? You can do behests with friends noone bothers with jobs ranks in behests it seems they goto any camp they want. Then it is up to SE to make sure that camps are more balanced in FFXIV than they were in FFXI. In all honesty if you level synced all the way to 75 in FFXI then you were stupid as you would have a worthless character and would have to spend a lot of time in skillup parties to get your skills up to their proper ranks.
Yes to play with friends, I'll give you an example:
Our LS have been doing level runs for a long, long time. Anyway on the last run to R50 at around R45 one of our members had went on holiday for a week. By the time they got back we had all dinged R50 and were well under way with our next classes. So we have been left with 2 options:
1 - Abandon our fellow LS member and make them get to R50 on their own
2 - Go back to our R50 as luckily she was R45 so still in the 5 rank range and do runs with no benefit/progress for ourselves to help them out.
Of course we did option 2 and had to basically waste 5 leve resets to get them to R50. Now if level sync was in the game then she could have synced down to our level to get her last few levels to get her R50.
Another example is a friend of mine recently joined but as I have every single class at R25+ I have no way to party with them at all really.
As for no one bothers with Ranks for Behest I am sure I have seen a lot of threads on here with people complaining and asking for rank restrictions to be put in place to stop people who are too high. Level sync would also solve that problem as you could just sync the party to the lowest member and everyone would be within rank range and everyone would benefit.
I have yet to see a convincing argument that would tip the balance of level sync being a bad thing over a good thing.

A rank 40 will not get SP in a rank 10 behast and most likely piss off a lot of people lol and then you have to wait 30 mins for next one. It sucks and behast is not a solution.
Also to AlexiaKidd that you're quoting. I dont get how level sync levelling made you worthless or stupid? Sure you'd be less skilled. Guess what you dont have a skill in XIV. So that wouldnt matter, you'd be identical to someone 50 however you did it. And as i've said before, there is absolute NO difference from fighting a level 30 mob than fighting a 75. Infact lower level players are better, and why is that? Because they try to skill chain as they're weak and need it, they try magic burst, they cooperate, and even do SATA lol, you'll never get this in a 75+ camp, its just all dd's going mental like angry farmers.

The point they are making is that in XI if you level synced at a level 35 camp all the way to 75 you wouldn't gain any weapons skill points essentially making your character gimped.A rank 40 will not get SP in a rank 10 behast and most likely piss off a lot of people lol and then you have to wait 30 mins for next one. It sucks and behast is not a solution.

Obviously that is not an issue in FFXIV as we don't have weapon skills, although we do have action points, if you level sync a rank 50 player down to rank 10 they essentially lose most of their skill slots.
Don't get me wrong I am all for level sync in this game, but SE need a way to make action points scalable with it (perhaps leaving it as it is, just adjusting the players stats)

I was mearly commenting on a lot of peoples responses to people just staying in low level camps in FFXI all the way to 75. If you did that as a DD you would not be able to hit the side of a barn as your weapon skill levels would be very low in comparison to the things you would fight at 75 so you would need to do some skill up parties to get your weapon skill levels up. I never had that problem as if I synced I would make sure the next party I joined would sync to my level then I could get my skill's back to cap easily.
Also as you said it is not even an issue in FFXIV as you don't get weapon skillup's in the same way.

level synch wouldn't work with guild leves. people would party at a certain range and exploit the same best leves over and over to max out sp.
They already do that so it would change nothing, you still cap SP on leves as long as the mobs are 10+ ranks above yours and you can do that easily by upping the stars.

As Alexia pointed out this is already happening, most people only go to Broken Water and Hala now, Limsa is considered a pain in the ass to do leves due to travel and Gridania you would be mad to consider doing guildleves there.
SE need to seriously think about drawing people away from Ul'dah and spreading them out to the lesser used camps, level sync is a great idea IMO, the armour & weapons already scales with rank, obviously durability would need to be addressed though.

I want level sync, I been busy with university and work so now I have no class near my friends level, so I have to wait for him to catch up or I have to start a class im not interested in. so without it my gameplayz is being RUINED!

Eh, I don't really want a level sync. I'd rather have it so that parties can still function and get decent SP for all members even if it consists of members of disparate levels.
It's ironic how the adjustments to how party SP is calculated with the level restrictions actually makes it MORE EASY to power level a rank 1 character.
