If that is your download rate, it sounds like a problem on your end. For me, when I am downloading patches or doing a fresh install on my PC, I am getting constantly 13MB/s.

I agree. I have gigabit internet and and still download extremely slow while installing. I don't think that's my ISP as anything downloads lightning fast.

Actually they do to an extent? It's not a one way street, example: I get gigabit speeds (80+MB/s) through steam/etc but I can only download at ffxiv at between 30-40MB/s. Even so, obviously this is an issue on his end lol.

More likely than not in any case, rather unlikely he's getting speeds like that due to anything in between at least as far as networking goes.

Seems like a you issue. Only took 3 hours ish when I reinstalled during the expansion, and the servers were slower due to load.

You know how the interconnected network works? What nodes are? And routing? Backbones? The "Last Mile"? Somewhere inbetween might be the problem, and it is not necessarily on Square Enix' end.

I could explain you all that and you might understand why the connects (this is a 90s term of how well/how fast a connection is established) can vary.
I do understand from your "Installed this game like 4 or 5 times" that you retried it several times. During Shadowbringers my installations interrupted and have been cancelled, sometimes I had below 1 MByte/s downstream. Suddenly I got lucky and had a fine connection of 6 MByte/s (50 MBit/s).



So, you might retry or try again off-hours. The servers can be iffy, but if your provider is having massive load, Square Enix can't fix much.

There could be any number of reasons why your download rate is slow, none of which are the fault of Square. It could be your ISP throttling you, could be your router being taxed as other people in the house are also using the internet, could be your computer is using an ancient NIC that doesn't support data transfer speeds of the last decade, if you're on WiFi you could be using hardware that doesnt support newer 802.11 standards and is using slower speeds as a result, it could also be the area you're in.

Took 5-6 hours to install everything up to ShB on my ps4. When ShB came out, another 1.5 hours to install. This is one of those "you" problems, not a SE problem. Maybe you're router/modem is dated, maybe other hardware issues, etc. There are probably 100 things on your end to look at before looking at SE.
