Item Help popup not showing from items in chat box

On one of my characters, the Item Help dialog box that shows information about an item doesn't pop up from items that are linked in the chat box.

As an example of what should show up, here is an example from one of my characters where this is working properly.



These are my settings on the character where this is not working properly.



Although the Item Help dialog box doesn't show up from the chat box, it does work from items in my inventory.

I tried various things from people that helped me in this thread.

I found that resetting my character config settings to their default values made the dialog box work from the chat box again, however, this also completely erases my UI customization, which there is a lot of, so I would like to avoid having to nuke all of my settings like this.

I was wondering if maybe my character config file is corrupted, and if someone official from Square Enix can fix the file if I send it in?

Could you try uninstalling the game and deleting all FINAL FANTASY XIV files from the PC? Once done, please reinstall the game using a wired connection. That may help refresh everything and bring it to a working state. If you have not done so already, please also try deleting the locally saved content in the My Documents folder.

Actually this case can be closed, I found the setting that turns on the Item Help dialog in the chat box,



When that's enabled, item description popups started showing up from the chat box again.
