Because I played the class just fine without any issues. All the issues with the class is everyone else's, not mine.I'm sorry, but why is a healer main that has never played at a properly optimized level telling people the class was fine, when most of the glaring issues are seen at high levels of play. ._. As a whm main at 70, the better you got at playing your whm the less cure/cure 2s you did. You optimized around your healing partner and around your own oGCDs, this went for all healers. You could get through most dungeons and even ex/savage raids with only using maybe 3-4 cure/cure 2s in the entire fight/dungeon run, the better you got with your healers the more obsolete cure/cure 2 became. That's why people say the lily system was broken for nigh on 2 years, the better you were the more useless it got.
Mitigation is used as kind of a catch all for any form of damage mitigation, stuns, shields and even debuffs like addle/feint all fall into this category as they mitigate overall damage taken. In the case of holy it mitigates incoming damage for the duration of the stun, which is why they used mitigation when they referenced it.
Edit: Want to apologize for how arrogant and condescending this post comes off as, back to back 15 hour shifts in the ICU ward on 3 hours of sleep has made me a bit more cranky that I had realized upon writing this response lol. x.x
Wow. Just wow. I don’t know if it’s what you meant, but that reads as “the class works for me, therefore it’s fine, despite the fact that it doesn’t work for a lot of other people.” Which is an argument any of them could use against you with equal validity. Therefore there’s not really much weight to either side of the argument.
When you’ve got two substantial groups of people with different playstyles playing the same class (because it works best for them) there are two potential solutions. Either change the class in such a way that they will both be happy (like new WHM lilies) or move the class towards what one side wants and make a new class to satisfy the others (like I hope they’ll eventually do with AST).

Ill say it again. Patience. Things can always get better, dont be all defeatist about it. Machinist for example without completely repeating myself. That was one of my main points.
Ill acknowledge I dont know how AST was in the very beginning, but like you said it saw improvements, then 4.0 it was amazing. But now its in a rough spot. This can change, it can be improved..
All Im really saying.
Correction. I don't understand everybodies issues because I have none of these issues personally.
Im probly to casual to fully grasp and understand what people are talking about because I play without thinking as much about certain things. Im trying to say I obviously dont get it.
I thought SB's Lily system was fine (After they gave a Guaranteed Lily after a Cure.) and I liked that full Lilies decreased Cooldowns. And now in ShB I think they just improved it, I like the new spells, I like how the gauge works IMO. I dont wanna go on to long and just repeat myself, but the core of the issue here is, everybody is pointing out the issues, and Im trying to say these issues go over my head, because I dont notice them.
