It was nice before the expansion I could leave my character logged in for several days and I wouldn't get booted. Now he gets booted if I'm AFK for more than 15 minutes and it sucks. Please go back to how it was before the expansion.

It probably has to do with a hard cap that is in place. If the world has reached that cap, you will be placed in queue when logging in, even a queue of 1. Bots are still player characters that take the same amount of resource.
I think that's more of a case of the queue not checking in real time. Cancelling the queue and logging in again simply forces the game to check manually.

When I first started playing WoW in 2007 bots were EVERYWHERE. They were spamming chat advertising their sites. They were running into the main cities and dying to spell out their website in dead bodies. They were gathering as well. When I think back to when I last played the game (several years ago) I can't think of of the last time I saw a spam message in chat or a bot. They fixed their server and client code to not only patch out and prevent many bots but their greatly improved their client side bot software detection software.
Sure there still are bots but you almost rarely see them. There are 2 now level 80 gathering bots, one of them that I've been reporting since last December and the other since March that SE just won't ban. I just checked while posting this message and they are there, gathering those Aetherial Reduction nodes. They run the loops 24/7 non-stop. SE WILL NOT BAN THEM. There also appears to be a 3rd one now too.
The fact that SE won't even ban reported bots makes me want to quit this game.
They ban in waves. And it's handled by a small task force for it. It is not Square Enix, the company prioritizing RMT over all their projects from Hitman timed events to manga sales. XIV has to prioritize the game running and addressing game breaking issues first. Also, this is more of an NA problem over JP which is even less incentive to stop the presses. When I first started playing WoW in 2007 bots were EVERYWHERE. I'm not saying it's not an issue either.
