Sebazy goes into good detail, their post is worth a read. Curious you disqualify the credits list, though, as it is from the credits list we can find out who all worked on what through the game and it is what we have that tells us there are not only four people working on the jobs, but several of XIV's competitors staff a fuller combat team.

Not exactly disqualifying the credit list. But I wouldn't be surprised any outsourced work wasn't credited. Its bad enough its 4 ppl for 17(+L1) jobs. And the competitors having bigger teams is not really surprising, SE is on the habit of working with bare minimums.

I grew up inside the industry, too, so I know people.

My point is don't assume everyone is an "armchair developer". Games don't magically fall out of the sky, people make them. People like the ones we're talking about in this thread.

    There's dozens of us! Dozens!

    Sorry I pinched a nerve I guess?

You clearly haven't visited the healer forums recently. The fact that people are complaining about little cosmetic things doesn't mean they're the only issues. There are also plenty of threads complaining about balance between the melee damage classes, about the feel of SMN with its billion OGCDs to manage, about how DRK now feels like a clone of WAR, as well as a lot of unhappy AST and SCH mains. It pains me that I feel bad about advocating for fixes that my job needs because other jobs also need that attention.

And while I might not have wanted to delay the expansion for cosmetic issues, I would happily have seen the expansion delayed so that MNK and AST could have started the expansions with the fixes they got in 5.05 (and preferably more, in AST's case. Can't comment on MNK since I haven't ever played it at cap). When the expansion launched there were 3 whole jobs which were bad enough to turn their columns in that reddit poll blue within a sea of red satisfaction at the other jobs.

So yes, I think that the devs could use some more time and resources to work on the core elements of gameplay.
