That would still go back to the whole "it is always the Ascian's fault" plot they keep repeating since 1.0 in the end. In this case it was the Ancient Ascians.

There is a limit to how many times they can repeat this plot over and over again each expansion to a point that the storyline is practically saying "kill all Ascians so they can stop Fing up the world because they keep Fing up the world even in the beginning when they never intensionally wanted to F up the world". Not to mention it would make them look naturally incompetent because in the end all they can do is F up the world.
