And then everyone would PF it, and newbies would be queuing for hours, defeating the point of the roulette.i didnt read the other threads and im not trying to get out of the MSQ roulette. Tbh, I've maybe done the MSQ roulette 5x since the change, I dont really care to do it. I'm just trying to understand the motives.
I never considered "finding out who the new person is and kicking them", instead i imagined throwing up a PF for MSQ roulette for people that wanna skip cutscenes. That way new players arent affected and in theory, new players would run it with more new players with duty finder. I would never condone singling out the newbie once everyones already in the instance, thats just abuse.
yeah, an incentive for people that normally avoid MSQ roulette. The people, like people in this thread, that dont mind the cutscenes would still queue up in DF. the people using PF would mostly be people that werent queuing in DF in the first place.

You forget that the purpose of roulettes is to help new people clear old dungeons and not for you to get rewards.
thats only partially true, as why do we have rewards at all then. i can queue up with my FC in expert for a quicker run to get the same rewards (as with any other roulette) but MSQ roulette is the special one that gets more attention. I'm fine with how it is as the rewards arent worth it for me, im just surprised at the lack of options this far into the game's life after the MSQ change.
Expert roulette doesn't impact a new player's experience of the MSQ and its lore so it's not a relevant example.
If the cutscenes in the MSQ roulette are bugging you that much, why aren't you running dungeons appropriate to your job's level instead? If you chain run them with a competent group, you'll be getting roughly the same XP for the same time investment but you'll also be getting gear that you can use for glamour or turn in for GC seals. It's actually more rewarding for you but it does require more actual effort on your part.
Or is the real point you want massive rewards for minimal effort and time investment? Sorry, SE isn't going to give you that.
I dont think you're reading anything im saying and just projecting your animosity against my difference of opinion on the MSQ roulette. And I DO run the highest dungeon to level my alts, I avoid the MSQ roulette, as I said before.Expert roulette doesn't impact a new player's experience of the MSQ and its lore so it's not a relevant example.

But then why do you want to run MSQ roulette with skippable cutscenes?
If this is all purely academic, then you have to realise. Cutscenes used to be skippable.
People complained, all the time.
Newbies were harassed and forced to skip cutscenes. people didn't 'just go to PF if they wanted to skip', mob rule won out.
The current system is the best it's ever been, the roulette gets run more often, and people don't complain about having their first experiences of content ruined, and you don't have to run the roulette if you want want to.
