where does this idea come from? if the cutscenes are for new players. How does skipping cutscenes equate to less rewards earned for players that have seen them and no new player is affected at all?

It has been mentioned about a hundred times in every thread about this topic: because people would try to find out who the new player is and kick them so they can skip the cutscenes.
MSQ roulette awards that insane amount of exp + a chunk of tomestones for the sole reason of everyone being forced to watch the cutscenes. It's the devs way of thanking you for your time and making it possible for new players to get into those two dungeons and experience everything "on set" instead of being rushed through and forced to watch them later at the inn.

Don't want to spent 30-40min watching cutscenes? Don't do the MSQ roulette.
Many players do it regulary and it's a great way to grab exp with next to no effort. You can do all sort of things while the cutscenes play. But if you prefer to get your exp and tomestones elsewhere, you're free to do so.

Because there's no reason to PF Expert Roulette.
This would be a HUGE incentive to PF MSQ Roulette.

yeah, an incentive for people that normally avoid MSQ roulette. The people, like people in this thread, that dont mind the cutscenes would still queue up in DF. the people using PF would mostly be people that werent queuing in DF in the first place.

You forget that the purpose of roulettes is to help new people clear old dungeons and not for you to get rewards.

Expert roulette doesn't impact a new player's experience of the MSQ and its lore so it's not a relevant example.

If the cutscenes in the MSQ roulette are bugging you that much, why aren't you running dungeons appropriate to your job's level instead? If you chain run them with a competent group, you'll be getting roughly the same XP for the same time investment but you'll also be getting gear that you can use for glamour or turn in for GC seals. It's actually more rewarding for you but it does require more actual effort on your part.

Or is the real point you want massive rewards for minimal effort and time investment? Sorry, SE isn't going to give you that.

I dont think you're reading anything im saying and just projecting your animosity against my difference of opinion on the MSQ roulette. And I DO run the highest dungeon to level my alts, I avoid the MSQ roulette, as I said before.

But then why do you want to run MSQ roulette with skippable cutscenes?

If this is all purely academic, then you have to realise. Cutscenes used to be skippable.
People complained, all the time.
Newbies were harassed and forced to skip cutscenes. people didn't 'just go to PF if they wanted to skip', mob rule won out.
The current system is the best it's ever been, the roulette gets run more often, and people don't complain about having their first experiences of content ruined, and you don't have to run the roulette if you want want to.
