    -Old- beast tribes

    Hello! I don't usually post on the forums, so I am sorry if this is in the wrong spot >_< In game it says "general discussion" for feedback/suggestions.. I just felt since this is related to quests it should go here.. if not, please move


    This will seem like a random cry and whine.. and most who have been active as long as I have will probably say something like.. "if you really wanted to do them, it'd be done".

    Why is there daily limits still on old beast tribes? I understand for previous and the most current expansion, but ARR and HW are not new content.. these all sharing the same daily reset quest count is a bit annoying.

    I can't help but feel like there shouldn't be a restriction on ~5 year old content.. we are now able to solo the raids from these tiers via unsync-- and get the mounts from EX Primals.. yet it still takes a long time to gain reputation with beast tribes.. When the new beast tribes come out, that it will seem hopeless again- because of the desire to do the new ones.. but if you are aiming to grind out rep with ARR/HW ones, you will have to choose between old and new content. We remove the lockout of raid loot, the one item per week.. we buff things like atma drops.. to make the old content not as grindy as it was when it was current.. but the beast tribes have been left alone?

    I guess I would want to see old beast tribes to be unlocked to allow it to not hinder the most current tribes. I personally have taken a bunch of time off, and even made another character, but the limited amount of quests to get the reputation grinded up is a bit daunting.. it still feels like it will take a long time to get it complete.. when most of the other older content has gotten touch ups. ((I can't shake this endless feeling of "catching up"... sure I could wait and just do new content and use beast tribes as a filler for old.. but the quest cap still makes it feel endless.))

    I would love to be able to do old beast tribes, while not feeling like I am wasting daily quests.. I know some will say its aimed to keep us playing longer, or that we should have to work towards things.. but ARR things have been reworked. It's old content, new people and others who didn't have the time for it/don't want to use dailies on it, won't have them complete.

    Probably to prevent level grinding. That's my belief anyway on why there is still a cap on those.

    Well... with all the tools we have to boost leveling.. I don't really see the issue here. Crafters can level via crafting, leves, and they boosted before it was incorporated into beast tribes.. (I dont even use my allowances at this point).. and with it being old content, I would think getting to 60 shouldn't be an issue... It's just odd that there are so many changes to allow smoother leveling, smoother griding for things, but then beast tribes are just left alone.

    I can see that with current and previous expansion, to keep the caps in place.. but I've heard each has 3 quests anyway.. (not sure of how accurate that is, I haven't unlocked SB beasts, still working on moogle as I am typing this..)
    With how many ways there are to level, i don't see why that would be the issue.. I can kinda see with crafters, but I'm not saying unlock everything and allow to be bloodsworn or whatever the max rank is, in one day-- but the way they have old tribes might need to be reworked or looked at.. if 3 is the magic number they want to use going forward, maybe change it to where so many quests don't unlock for old ones.. adjust the reputation per quest.. something? (i know there was like 6 or so my sylphs have.. but with me doing amalj'aa in the past with the sylphs I never grabbed them all..)

    So like.. instead of saying only 12 and that is it.. unlock the old sylph/amalj'aa/sahagin... they are a regular quest grind without crafters/gathers.. I don't know why Ixal would be an issue unlocked as well, i think people being caught up would be more beneficial than not o_o..

    I honestly don't see a reason why the BT are shared throughout all the content. It would make sense to limit it to either 3 quests per tribe (3 for Vanu, 3 for Moogle, 3 for Sahagin, etc...) or limit it to like 6 quests per expansion. Something like that. It would encourage to start the BT if you are a new player and still give you a limit how far you can stress them.

    Personally I just did them one by one and are at my last quests for the HW BT (with ARR & SB finished).

    My guess is one of three things:

    1)To prevent people from blasting through leveling. Beast Tribe quests even from ARR give a lot of exp for below 50. Generally doing your normal three gives out around 35% percent. Having that uncapped would be pretty insane as no one would run dungeons and every time you would try to do your personal beast tribe quests multiple people would be spawning theirs. The red chocobo event for Lighthouse is a really good example that everyone trying to do the exact same thing at the exact same time turns into an absolute mess.

    2) To make the exclusive items have more value. The beast tribes themselves have some exclusive items for rising through the ranks. The ARR ones have dyes/housing items/orchestrion/mounts that can only be bought through them. The HW and SB ones also have glamours/orchestrions but also most importantly crafting items. When Stormsap first came out in SB the sales for it were absolutely nuts since it was needed to make the BIS crafted gear at the launch of the patch. If those items were just available to anyone due to no limit cap the value would drop and everyone would be doing it. Why not make the most out of it even if you don't craft?

    3)Bots. Leans into 1 but is big enough for it's own issue. If bots were allowed an unlimited amount of Beast Tribe quests, those quests all give exp but also gil. You see how rampant they are in Ampador Keep so much so that dungeon can't be accessed at times due to them. Wouldn't be shocked to see bots take advantage of an infinite pool of free gil with no time restrictions and crash the market even more so then they normally do.
