Jump Potion unlock confusion

Sooo... my sister an her bf bought both a jump potion for ARR (+ with lvl 70 chars) and we wanted to farm ex ponies.

The problem is tho, I - or rather them - can't find where I can unlock the ex primals. I googled like a madwoman which quests to unlock and where, my only 'lead' was Urianger with the quest 'A recurring problem' but he's not in the waling sands and they can't even access the Rising Stones, they say there is a NPC standing in front of the door not letting them in??? (we all could do the hard versions of the primals all right).

Has anyone any experience with the jump potion?

I must say I don't like the system, it's hella confusing, how can you even know where to unlock all the other endgame content for ARR? Like I said google failed me there. I get u can do HW right away and unlock everything there but what's with the ARR content? Is this just off the limits for them?

You probably have to clear the trials on Hard mode first.

Have they gone through post-ARR yet? From what I searched, ARR EX trials are in Patch 2.1, which is the Seventh Astral Era quests.

Then the quest should be Primal Nature in The Waking Sands. See if that's completed in the Journal.

They used jump potion so they've cleared all ARR MSQ.

I know skips can be a problem. Many things they don't care to unlock for you such as the raids, extremes, leveling in GC and more. I don't recall how I unlocked mine so I'm not much help on that score. I even had to do the melding quests in Eastern Than to be able to get an NPC to meld my gear.

I have a fresh skipper on Balmung so I might give it a look later tonight when i have the chance.

Ah, okay. I never used a jump potion for MSQ, only for WHM to 60, and only because on my old laptop, lag made healing extremely difficult. I endured the post-ARR grind, lol. But yeah, like you said, if they have Primal Nature unlocked or completed, either they need to talk to an NPC in Gridania, or talk to Y'shtola for the next one.

Since it's an ex fight, and it's after ARR has been completed, all the timeline EX fights (other than great googly moogle king moogle mog) is in the Waking sands out in Western Thanalan, pre Moar donuts Waking sands HQ.
