    Scientific Research: Pixie Language (Linguistics)

    I really would love to understand the language of pixies. Due to this, I did some transcriptions of some phrases ingame and translated them into German. I hope that, with the help of that, we could somehow analyze and solve the grammar of the pixy language.

    If you are also interested in that, feel free to just post your ideas and let's discuss.
    If we come to a conclusion, I will add them into the original post (this one). I would also appreciate the 1:1 English transcriptions if someone is willing to add them, as these are only my translations from my German into my English.

    Here are my translations:
    1. Sneyjak - Baum des Glanzes - Tree of Shimmer
    2. Vie sach, vielan Bismae - Ich rufe dich, großer Bismarck - I call you, majestic Bismarck
    3. Long vie biera, sofin be ra me. - Lang ist es her, dass man meinen Namen rief. - It's been a long time since one has called my name.
    4. Ama ta knai? - Warum weckst du mich, kleiner Nachbar? - Why are you waking me, little neighbour?
    5. Falen silo loren slon - Wir wollen auf den Grund des Meeres. - We want to the ground of the sea.
    6. Adadsi. - Bitte. - Please.
    7. Gus, Bismae - Wach auf, Bismarck - Wake up, Bismarck
    8. Van liet, rien lie. - Was es sich wünscht, sei auch mein Wunsch. - What it wishes, may also be my wish.
    9. Var el sa snir eu fatir. - Die Welt liegt in der Dämmerung. - The world is at its dawn.
    10. I tio jaksi. - Ich will doch nur ruhen. - I just want to rest.
    11. Ache ona sache vet vis? - Was sehen meine müden Augen? - What can my tired eyes see?
    12. Islo rien. - Unseren bezaubernden König. - Our magnificient king.
    13. So lien do. - Dein Wunsch sei mir Befehl. - Your wish be duty.
    14. in ba - ihr glänzenden Lebenden - you sparkling livings
    15. Lo va, talo ava. - Da sind wir, wie versprochen. - Here we are, as promised.
    16. Trel si boch. - Ich werde nun zum See zurückkehren. - I will now return to the lake.
    17. Ieve halbse tomle - Ich bin schon lange nicht mehr geflogen. - It's been a long time since I've been flying.

    Again, the pixie phrases are just what I guess I have heard in the cutscenes and are not 100% correct. I appreciate your help in solving that.

    I will keep that post clean of my guesses and put my ideas into a separate answer to that thread.

    lie - Wunsch - wish
    liet - wünschen - to wish (8)

    Not really sure if it is just "li" as the basic aspect of "wish" and the "e" is for the casus. Which could lead to the "t" representing the "he/she/it".

    rien - king (8/12)
    Maybe "ri" for king and the "en" as an ending for "our" BUT this is kind of a contradiction with "lien" (13), as this, then, should mean "our wish" and the word rien in 8.

    Lo va. (15)
    Maybe this could also be translated into "Here, (we 've) come.", and there could be also a connection to the french "venir" (come) in "va". "Là" in French is also a prep of place meaning "there".

    Maybe Pixie is more related to the French which might help us a bit more to also have the French translation in here. Any French people interested?

    I'm pretty sure it's just old Gaelic or Irish...

    Koji said that their language was made by the lore team, like Dragonspeak. It pulls from a lot of old European languages.

    I know "cairm" (though I have no idea how its spelt) means "friend". As heard in cutscene 1 of "In His Garden". And thus ends my contribution to this thread, good luck.

    Many Dragonspeak words have vaguely real worldish roots. (e.g. akh morn -> arc mort -> circle of death).
    So, this assumption seems like a possibility, if not a probability, lol.

    Hi, I tried to analyse the Pixie language.

    I'd like to share my analysis with someone to improve it, but I cannot find any threads about this language in the Japanese forum, so I post here.

    Some of them remain unknown at this moment.
    Give me your cooperation, if you please.

    Probably way more Irish than anything. The VSO word order screams that - the only European languages that use that are Celtic.

    Individual word translations given in the text (some deduced from phrases) that I noted as I went:

    Dohn = forbidden
    Eo = star, lesser light
    Feo = treasure, wealth
    Iala = "the turn of the seasons"
    Jul = yew
    Mheg = kingdom, realm (Il Mheg, Dohn Mheg)
    Oul = land, earth
    Ryne = blessing
    Sigun = sun, light
    Sul = flower
    Tyr = warrior? *
    Ul = moon, darkness

    * The pixie Sigun Ul suggests that if they were to give us a name by their custom, we might be "Sigun Tyr" or "Ul Tyr" - combined with the separate information that Sigun and Ul mean light and darkness, Tyr seems likely to mean warrior.

    And phrases:

    Aenc Uin = "water and happiness", "happiness in the water"
    Iala Sul = [turn of the seasons + flower] = "a flower that blooms always"
    Jul Feo = [yew + treasure] = "a treasure beneath the yew"
    Lydha Lran = "flower house"

    Two different words are translated as "flower", so possibly specific types, or maybe name-runes are a separate language again just to confuse things.

    I still need to finish a lot of the sidequests there because I started getting anxious about finding out where the main plot was going. So I need to get back to that.

    That should be "twilight" or "dusk" (the fading light after sunset) rather than "dawn" (increasing light before sunrise).

    Great work figuring out so much of the grammar!

    For "akt"/"acht" the pronounciation is the same, so I think we can follow the official spelling of "acht" there.

    Bismarck: Long has it been since my name was called.
    Ro... im da sa win mer aner
    (Unanalysable...)

    Feo Ul: Sleepy Bismarck, you old pixie! These are my precious, precious sapplings.
    Gus Bismer, win pikto!
    sleepy Bismarck old pixie
    So "win" can refer to age or a general length of time?

    Lv. 79: To Storm-tossed Seas (2)
    Bismarck: I have fulfilled my duty. I return now to the lake.
    Ro, vala la ala
    so, ? ? ?
    (Unanalysable...)
    Could "la" be the suffix that makes it a command? Either attached to "vala", or "la" itself means duty/command and thus attaching it to other words turns them into commands...?
