With the Ninja getting soon an overwork, I wanted to post before of that my concept here, how I'd like this class to be and how it should work in regard of skills n traits as also mechanics.
First the mechanics:
I think Huton as a mechanic should be replaced, it doest fit to Ninjas to manage every 70 seconds a buff effect, especially when by now two simple skill rotations keep it up nearly endless, if you are constantly fighting something to let it not run out of time.
The mechanic should be changed to Chakra, it is a Ninja's form of unique body energy, that is used to perform Mudras with that can be formed Ninjutsus then.
Ninjas have a maximum of 100% Chakra, each performed Ninjutsu will cost now Chakra in regard of how powerful the Ninjutsu is differently much of that.
Currently we have only 3 Mudras, I find that number too low and raise it up to 5:
- Ten > Blue
- Chi > Red
- Jin > Yellow
- Han (New) > Green
- Roh (New) > Purple
Mudra Skills will be changed, giving the Ninja a bigger Arsesal of Skills
1 Mudra Skills:
Ten: Fuuma-Shuriken, when performed with over 50% Chakra left then: Fuuton: Rasen Shuriken
Thow a big shuriken at your target, dealing damage to all foes in line of sight. As Rasen Shuriken, hit targets suffer also on a Bleeding over time for 15s and the hit on the main target causes a shreddering windstorm explosion dealing additional AoE Damage, which sucks nearby foes to the spot of the main target.
Chi: Smoke Screen, when performed with over 50% Chara left then: Suiton: Yasui Kirigakure
Throw a Smoke Grenade that deals damage, can interrupt enemy attacks and blinds them as long they stand in the smoke that is up for 10s. As Yasui Kirigakure, you create instead a big thick mist at the smoke grenades location, which allows you to be hidden inside of it,so you cant be targeted, and you can use skills freely for that you need to be hidden.
Jin: Death Blossom, when performed with over 50% Chakra left: Raiton: Chidori Senbon
Thow alot of Kunais around yourself to hit all nearby targets to deal damage to them. As Chidori Senbon, you deal more damage from the attack ignores 25% of the enemy defense and the enemies attack value gets decreased for 5 seconds by 15%
Han: Shadowrunner (Shukuchi), when performed with over 50% Chakra left then Doton: Hokori Kage Bunshin
You move quick as a shadow to your chosen ground target and deal damage to nearby targets. As Hokori Kage Bunshin do you summon a Shadow Doppelganger of yourself out from the whirled up dust, which assaults the target additionally from behind dealing a guaranteed critical hit
Roh: Power Seal, when performed with over 50% Chakra left then Katon: Fuin Bakahatsu > Fuin Kai
You use a seal to stop the powers of an enemy, causing it t get magic spells interrupted and to get binded and slowed, decreasing the attack speed and how fast skills are performed by adding 2 seconds to the activation times. As Fuin Bakahatsu, you let the seal cause a big explosion to turn practically the enemy into a living bomb which gets more powerful, so longer the seal lasted. The Skill turns into Fuin Kai if you want it to detonate sooner, after having used Fuin Bakahatsu on a target.
2 Mudras Skills
Ten Chi or Chi Ten: Fuuton: Yoroi Arashi
You perform a Wind Jutsu that supports your and nearby allies by boosting up your movement and attack speed up for Auto Attacks by 20% for 15s, while received damage gets reflected back by 1/8th of the received damage. So 8000 Damage mean 1000 Damage reflected back to the enemy.
Ten Jin or Jin Ten: Hyouton: Tsubame Fubuki
You shoot out a swarm of homing in ice swallows, which deal multiple hits to either a target or they hit multiple foes in a cone in front of you until every swallow hit something.
Chi Jin or Jin Chi: Mokuton: Seikatsu no Tsurii
You let a tree of life grow near your position, which regenerates over time health for 10 seconds each two seconds and removes negative conditions like poison, paralyze, petrification, freeze or bleedings.
Han Ten or Ten Han: Raiton: Doshaburi Raisen
You create at your target spot a thunderstorm cloud that lets rain lightnings over time causing damage over time to targets in it's arena of effect range. These lightnings can paralyze enemies eventually too.
Han Chi or Chi Han: Doton: Ryuusa Torappu
You create a trap of deadly quicksand at your location that deals damage over time and slows the enemy movement speed while inside of it by 90%. Its basically the current Doton just made a bit more interesting
Han Jin or Jin Han: Katon: Goka Mekkyaku
You shot a huge fireball at your targets to deal damage. Leaves at the enemy spot a burning firefield that continues to deal damaga via Burning condition if foes stand longer than 3 seconds in the burning fire field
Han Roh or Roh Han: Hyouton: Hyosho Ranryu
Throw freezing cold shurikens at your targets soaring through the air like flying snow dragons, causing hit targets to freeze on spot, unable to move for a short moment of time.
Ten Roh or Roh Ten: Suiton: Ame San
You spray with your breath an acid rain towards your target, which will cause damage to hit targets in the cone of your breath and enemies will have temporarely reduced defense against physical attacks. You are 10% more likely also to hit them critically too.
Chi Roh or Roh Chi: Doton: Maisoo no Tsumi
Let a huge rock crush on your target to deal damage, deals more damage so lower your health is. Has a chance to petrify weak targets that aren't immune to petrification. Petrified enemies can be instant killed with critical hits.
Jin Roh or Roh Jin: Fuuton: Kuchiose Kamaitachi
You summon a Wind Weasel that slices through the air with its sharp sicle claws, dealing Bleedings to foes that suffer damage, whenever they perform an action, like an auto attack or using a skill/spell as long they bleed for 15s
Lastly 3 Mudras Skills
Ten Chi Jin or Jin Chi Ten: Ninpou: Yume Anata no Mono Yume
You create a Shadow Doppelganger of yourself for 20 seconds, which while it is up copies all of your actions and reduces basically like Shadow Shift your received damage as the doppelganger soaks some of the received damage up. Its basically merging Shadow Shift and the doppelganger skill under the skill name "Dream of your Dreams" together. Trying here to translate into a japanese sounding name, correct me if its wrong, have only lousy google knowledge lol ^^
Chi Ten Jin or Chi Jin Ten: Ninpou: Koutai
The next attack that will hit you that is no Wipe Attack, will miss you as your body gets in the moment the attack hits replaced with a tree block, and you safely teleport away backwards.
Ten Chi Han: Ninpou: Hageshiku Buki
You take out your summon ninja scroll to summon one of your 4 special Ninja Weapons randomly, which is either a Kusarigama, a Naginata, two Sais or the famous Ninja Sword - Kusanagi which is the rarest but most powerful option, which change temporarely your weapon skills based on your Ninja Weapon, except the Sais, they just add effects to the Dagger based Weapon Skills
Rest is up to SE to come up with ideas
The point of adding mor Mudras is basically to remove Ninki completely, merge those few skills into the Mudra System and make the class with it more versatile
