Hello everyone! advice needed..

Heya there whoever is reading this.. im an former FFXI player who played it during its golden days in 04-06 and have played FFXIV for like a month or 2 casually on its launch days over year ago if i remember correctly.. anyways the game feels completely different and frankly the community aswell.. iv been trying to find grind groups for whole weekend and had 0.. iv asked for tips about leveling and managed to get 1 tip in total which was something like ''get an LS LOL'' from a random ''lower being'' about to hit lv17 (been just doing 4 leve per 12hr and grinding..)

please someone.. give me advices.. is there even people grinding at my range on mobs (exp chain groups) and if so - wheres the usual spots so i could just hang around and try to get into 1 group - is there any otherway to get exp (faster maybe..?) than 4 leves every 12hr and basic grinding...? im totally lost here and starting to lose my faith in this game slowly.. since this is NOT what i was looking for.. if i want to play MMO id expect to play with people.. feels more like single player FF currently...

sorry if it sounded bit like a rant but hey.. this is frustrating for a newb..

Edit: If there is an Linkshell that accepts new people in their ranks / has people who actually play with lower level jobs - i wouldnt mind of getting a pearl ^^;

Well the person who told you the advice about the "LS" gave you one of the most accurate pieces of advice that anyone is going to give you as it brings you into the community on that server. Do keep in mind though, like anything, it takes time to cultivate the relationships needed in order to advance.

You will find that the easiest way to gain levels is to have someone PL your character. If you have to do it yourself it is like any other MMO, target mobs about 1-2 levels lower than your current level and just grind. Leves are excellent but do take some time.

I was a new player as well about a month ago, and I was lucky enough to enter the game with some awesome friends who were already complete characters. My suggestion is to just get in-game and ask people who are in LS's about their LS and see if any fit your wants.

Use the "SEARCH" feature to register that you are "looking for group" as well as to search out others who are looking for a group. Its a pretty simple feature and its in the main menu screen. The fact that the previous poster as well as he individuals you spoke to in game didn't mention it is embarassing.
