    Spells and skill you want for your job in 6.0!

    Now that most jobs have been fleshed out conceptually, how do you envision your job growing from here on out, building on what they already have?


    DRG:
    -Stardiver changed to Single Target, 800 potency, shares recast with Nastrond.
    (Nastrond for AoE, Stardiver for ST)
    -New Weapon Skill: "Drakesbane", upgraded damage and animation for Full Thrust.
    -New Ability: "Highwind" replaces Spineshatter Dive, faster animation than Spineshatter, more damage.

    MCH:
    -New Ability: "Chainsaw". AoE alternative to Air Anchor, shares recast.

    RDM:
    -New Ability: "Spontaneity", allows for immediate use of 3 "Enchanted" weapon skills without consumption of Mana.

    SCH:
    -New Spell: "Meltdown", new animation replacement of Art of War, adds a Slow effect (since SCH used to have Slow with Shadow Flare).

    I am amused thinking of "art of war" being suddenly replaced by "meltdown" as a scholar spell.

    Then there'd be the slow, because obviously the mobs you're fighting are all like, "Dude...are you okay?"

    Id say an ability for Scholar that marks the target, which will make the faery prioritize said target above others. As in the faery will first heal the target and if the target is above the healing freshhold THEN the faery will start healing other ppl. We allready have such a marking ability in the game (Dancers dancepartner).

    And i would love to see other "Ultimate" healing spells, on the scale that bene is for WHM. SCH allready has Dissipation, which could be reworked to such an ability(maybe, instead of 3 stacks, it grants 1 stacks every 3 seconds for 15 seconds or something like that). And AST could get an ability that maybe "safes" the current HP of the target and after 10 seconds or so, sets the HP back to that amount.

    Literally anything for SCH that gives me something to do in downtime. Literally anything that isnt another heal. With the caveat I keep all the dps/downtime skills I have now. So don't get rid of energy drain just to give me a different dps aetherflow dump in its place.

    For WHM, I want Ultima. Or Ultra Nova, if Ultima goes to BLM. And Ultra Nova would be an reference to Chrono Cross, a White Element spell. If they put anything where we can burn lillies to generate blood lillies that isn't a heal, it would be welcome.

    Moreover, give us back Protect/Shell. Can we dream about Tornado? Y'shtola used it (she left WHM, but WHM didn't left her).

    As a Scholar I think some kind of Aetherflow damage buff would be really fun to have. You’d have to decide between using Energy Drain for damage, keeping it for healing, or buffing a high DPS party. Or buff yourself for soloing even. It’d just be nice to have another decision for Aetherflow other than ‘do I want damage or healing’. Could have a really short cooldown (like 10s or something) so you can use it as needed, though at the cost to healing/pDPS

    That said, I’ve just realised a Fey Wind style fairy ability that uses fairy gauge could be much more interesting. Right now Fairy Gauge is just ‘do I want a Regen type heal or an AoE heal’, which isn’t bad, but it could be much more engaging if it was a decision between keeping it for healing or using it to increase party damage

    I also think some low damage utility DoTs would be cool too. Like Miasma(lysis?) could reduce damage dealt by the enemy by like 3%, or Libra that increases damage taken by target by like 2/3%. They would have higher MP costs than Biolysis and Broil, and lower potency, to balance them. They would also need to have a low duration, so that your personal DPS will drop if using them instead of Broil or Biolysis. The idea would be deciding during your damage rotation whether you want to directly damage the enemy, or instead weaken them.

    Dancer:
    Haste Samba: Decreases nearby party members recast timers. Shares a recast with shield samba. (Works like 3.0 AST spear card.) (Should work much better now since TP is a relic from the past now.)

    Red Mage:
    Temper: Increases target critical hit by 20%, and for the caster provides them with composure which decreases MP cost of spells by 1/2. (Same duration/recast as devilment) (powerful utility similar to DNC devilment, that also functions as MP recovery tool, finally some support utility that warrants RDM lower DPS numbers.)
