    <Danger Zone> and <Blasting Zone>

I oddly assumed Blasting Zone was going to be an AoE attack. Like Confiteor it felt like the "Big Numbers, hit everything attack."

Name and animation made me think it would be that way and I was dissapointed to find out it didn't really hit anything else beyond the first target.

It's a bit of a nit pick, but shouldn't it at least hit enemies in a frontal cone?

They would probably cut its potency if it could hit multiple targets. GNB already has monstrous single target and AoE damage output.

I agree with the above, the name just comes from the limit break... though the limit break did hit multiple targets, so I wouldn't be mad if they made it a % reduction skill after the first enemy hit. Especially during aoe pulls its just a "pop it" skill.

MMOs have a long history of badly named abilities...

I am actually surprised this one got past localization. SE has maybe the best English localization team I have ever seen but they have made some mistakes before, like the job name Paladin. This one is another, albeit more minor one in my opinion. That said I wonder if it has the same name in Japanese.

Blasting Zone is intentionally named. That was Squall's next to last Limit Break in FF8. Most of the job's abilities are based on a mixture of different techniques Squall and Seifer employed throughout that game. Its name is the same in both. As for why they called the weaker version Danger Zone, I'm guessing it's because areas marked off as danger zones are far enough from blasting zones not to endanger people with the explosions but could still possibly pelt them with debris.

It may be intentional but it’s still a localization failure as incorrect grammar for the effect.

I assumed it was an area attack as well, and then later on discovered it wasn't and was like..... ummmm ok! I don't think it would really matter if they made it an area attack. AoE damage balance between tanks really doesn't matter much, so I'm fine with it if they made it an area attack, as long as they don't buff the single target damage, it is fine by me.

It's not wrong grammar either.... It's just the title of an ability used by the character who uses the gunblade....

And it does have the same name in JP. It's not a failure of anything except people assuming every single bit of a skill's name must have an exact meaning to how the skill functions. You gonna say flamethrower isn't actually throwing flames next lol?
