    HOW SQUARE ENIX TRULY TREATED ABYSMALLY

    My account was terminated without ANY notice because of a payment disputed accidentally, not even by me. When I called and asked to be transferred to a higher up I kept getting "No I will not do that" by the customer service representative. I asked for some kind of contact whether email or phone number to where I can file a complaint with the legal department and the representative kept saying "You're not an attorney so I will not give you that" (Note: You DO not need an attorney to be self-representing) and it's also required in most call center settings that if you ask to be transferred to another department, they must or at least get you to the right person who you can at least voice your opinion to. I asked the customer service representative if their calls are recorded for training purposes and he said "I don't know - do you need anything else". My account was deleted on accident with no warning - I had every right to be upset but instead this person kept mocking me and "not agreeing with me" as if he should have a saying in what my rights are. I am disgusted with this treatment and will further look into contacting or being contacted by someone in legal department or a supervisor.

    Or perhaps you were treating Square Enix abysmally. From what I gather from your post, they did not receive your payment. They had every right to take action.

    SE's policy is pretty draconian. Other companies, such as Blizzard, just close the account until it's resolved.

    Totally I heard from my uncle's mother who works at Nintendo thing but don't they ban you if you have a charge back sort of event?

    As for OP it sounds like maybe something unfortunate happened, and maybe some of that is indeed SE's fault (I've read some horror stories on the sub-reddit, that got enough attention to be solved which is nice), but.. it also seems like you came in scorched earth and the representative was basically like "salt my lands, I salt your account" lol.

    Gotta be nice to the representatives, especially if you want them to do something :P. Pressure is not the same as being rude, but polite pressure rather. Maybe take a moment to collect your thoughts and call back, might have a different result.

    Not just SE, if you caused a chargeback on any form, you are pretty much on the blacklist, no exception. Business do not treat chargebacks lightly

    Call your bank and ask why they refunded your purchase. Charge backs without reason are seen as fraud by companies. That's why your account was terminated. They have no way of knowing, and they get penalized for all charge backs by the payment processor, and can lose the right to take payments.


    So your first question should be why did your bank decide to refund on your behalf without asking. And have them reverse it.

    I mean, how does one accidentally ask for a refund/get a chargeback on their account for a service they paid for?

    Honestly, if I was the rep I would assume you were attempting fraud as well. However, I do not think it is right that they didn't transfer you to a higher up. I work in a call centre and we have to immediately transfer the call if it is requested. Mainly because they are better equipped to handle belligerent customers and can put their foot down.

    However, if you can explain it without being aggressive and rude I don't see why they wouldn't attempt to help you. I'm not sure you were nice though.

    We don't really have the whole story though so meh.

    Oh I was extremely nice - at first. I worked in a call center and understand that the person answering has no control over any current situation. However, after asking to be transferred multiple times and he refusing - that got me heated because now my field is actually legal and I knew what he was doing/saying was all serious business. And listen, I am not a hateful/whining person but if im upset (regardless of right or wrong) just allow me to vent and do your job of following the appropriate procedures, ya know? Other than that, I've NEVER had a problem with SE and actually love all the great gaming they add to my busy life. But I am refuse to back down when someone goes out of their way to purposely deny me my rights - hence, the post.
