A question: What do you need the money for?


I am also almost always comparably poor (right now I think 660,000 Gil). I used to be very much under pressure because of my funds ingame. That stopped as soon as I realized I do not need that much actually. I am just running my dailies, roulettes and some story quests, I could so far afford gear, Materia and all that stuff that got me always further in the story or at least a significant improvement with the Gils I made inbetween.

Apart from FC house related things, are you sure you even need those Gil?


If it's a personal sort of highsore you want to achieve then I can't help you. Or levelling crafters or something for the materials. But you are Level 80, so you should've figured out that Gil are not that super important as it's just a minor currency (compared to e.g. Tokens or Tomestones). Just to take off some pressure of your chest of the actual "need" to make Gil.

Anyone at max level with 660K max should be worried. By definition, you are below the poverty line.

To be fair, there are different kinds of poverty is this game. There are those who make no gil, and then there are those (like myself) who spend it faster than we bother to make it.

Well looking at your character and jobs, and your fashion, I can probably come to the conclusion you dont do endgame, housing, or even glamor. So yah of course you dont need gil is your dont play the actual game.

Im just going to come right out and say it and its probably going to make a few people pissed but hey, theres already enough of us doing it. Few more who read this is going to be small.

I see youre on Crystal DC.
Join the Centurio Hunt discord, and do hunt trains. You can make 3m per hour/hr and a half with them since there are so many players doing it, so a full train may last 90 minutes or less only.
You said you fall asleep gathering, this you will not. Besides the rate of gil per hour doing this exceeds anything except for MB waiting.

Take all the Goetia from one train, buy items in eulmore for goetia once train is over, sell items on MB, easy 1 million gil.
Take all the cluster drops, convert them in eulmore into whatever materia is selling good on your server, another 1.5-2.5 mil.
All within 90 minutes.

Proceed to upgrade all your gear to 450 since you can afford it now for only 90 minutes of a hunt train. Repeat process 1 more time and use all the clusters to put materia on your own crap, problems solved. Repeat as needed for greed.


As a gatherer, I can attest that the income is low on crystal DC because people are stupid and dont know how to cut by a penny, they cut by 80% multiple times until a 3000 gil item is only 70 gil.

Dont do it until SE handles the bot problem if ever. I make money on it but no where near as fast as 3m per hour doing hunt trains.

And yeah, maps are a waste of time. They are like going to a casino. They are fun but you typically are not going to come out ahead in the end. The above is guaranteed money for your time, and requires 0 effort into gather or crafting roles, just be lvl 80 thats it.


Do not think discord links can be posted here.
Just try to keep an eye on your party finder (world) during daytime hours, noon til midnight for hunt trains, If you see it, join them, then ask for a discord link.
They run 12 hours of the day pretty much, they do a train > swap servers > repeat all day.

If you went ahead and just dedicated an entire day off to trains you could easily make 15 mil +

I am a crusty old woman who doesn't do Discord but do they ever post in Party Finder? Hunt train sounds more interesting than the crud I've BEEN doing...

HUh? I have like 3.4 mil just from main scenario, roulettes, and selling low level mats on MB----I'm not even half way through Stormblood. BTW in my community anything under 20 mil is broke.

Fleece and Ovim fleece sell fairly well yet on my server. Those are always options. Easy kills and decent money for 30 min or less of work.

I'm floating between 300k and 400k. The most I have ever had is 600k. I'm not selling very much atm cause I need stuff to level crafters.

How is that even possible? From MSQ questing alone you'll amass 2.5 million.
