Let's see. If your character is the same as listed on the forums there, a quick Lodestone search shows... as a SCH, you're level 62 using a level 58 ilvl 145 book. (obviously if you're posting about being level 63, this hasn't completely updated, but the point still stands)

Assuming your SMN is using something similar, there's your problem.

Also, please don't queue as SCH without upgrading that book.

Aside from it becoming more cooldown heavy, SMN is pretty much the same it was before SHB, so if you knew how to play then you shouldn't have any issues now.

yeah that's a big difference. Not just the level gap, but 58-62 is across expansion tiers, which is a big increase in ilvl. much bigger then if you went from 54-58.

Felt this in my soul. SMN was the first class I tried to mess around shadowbringers with. It was rough.

I was enjoying my summoner class pre-Shadowbringers and was looking forward to leveling that character. However, I felt the same way you did and completely changed class to Ninja via mogstation purchase. I feel its as if they are trying to get rid of this class, they ruined it.

First of all, the job isn't broken, it actually feels good weaving all those spells between GCDs, though I'd like to have some QoL improvements like being able to recharge Aetherflow outside of battle.

Second, you shouldn't have any problem killing enemies, it is true that going from Heavensward to Stormblood is a big change and enemies are WAY STRONGER than previous expansions to the point where you can't pull 3-4 and AoE them down, but 1 vs 1 you should be fine. At this point you should already have Augmented Shire Gear on every equipment slot including weapon and rings, if you haven't used your poetic tomestones, go to Idyllshire and get ilvl 270 items there.

Besides that, I think your rotation isn't good either, you shouldn't be using oGCDs all together, you should weave them after casting instant spells. For example open with: (Ruin 3 ->Ruin 2 ->Tri-D -> Dreadwyrm Trance), then continue with (Ruin 3 (instant) -> Energy Drain -> Fester), then (Ruin 3 -> Egi Assault 1 and 2) and so on. The ideal situation is getting 2 oGCD spells for every GCD, tht's called weaving and it's the base of the current SMN playstyle.
