Don't get me wrong, Soken has done an awesome job taking up the mantle of lead musical composer of FFXIV but I miss that Uematsu vibe in the ARR areas. I don't know if it's just because that's the era I grew up in but I actually prefer a majority of the older music because it gives me more of a FF-feel akin to the orginals opposed to the overly relaxed feel of the some of the area maps in HW, SB and ShB and the upbeat, almost poppy sound of the boss fights/trials.

So who are some other composers you'd iike to see/hear in FFXIV?

For me, definitely Masashi Hamauzu. His work in games like FFXIII, Threads of Fate, Musashiden: Samurai Legend, the SaGa series, FFX, and Sigma Harmonics are some of my favorites. He's even made music for non-RPGs like Ridge Racer. He has a very particular sound that I love. I'm surprised he hasn't shown up already in FFXIV.

Keiichi Okabe, who's composed some music from Nier would be another one. And yes, I know we're getting a crossover soon but I'd like to hear more music produced by him exclusive to FFXIV. The music of Nier just has this EPIC feel that would be perfect for some of the trials/boss fights.
