Classes?

I'm kind of curious about the handling of gear. Going through Eureka, I've seen that some weapons like the Anemos variety, are only equippable by Jobs (i.e.: a Rogue can't equip Nagi Anemos). Why then is there still class gear at Level 80?



This coat from the Eden Raid, for example, says that it can be equipped by Thaumaturge and Arcanist. But why would you still be using those at this level? They stopped gaining new skills and traits 30 levels ago. Is it just for coding?

I recall hearing people talk about how they had certain players show up in duties with no Soul Crystal at Level 50 or higher. Wouldn't restricting gear for Classes past Level 35 encourage the equipping of the Soul Crystal (since you'd eventually hit iLevel lockout) and prevent situations like this? I suppose it would prevent those silly PF runs where people try to get 23 others without Job Crystals to clear a Raid, but still.
