    Signature Skills/Abilities

    Is there any chance that maybe we could change up the signature skills?

    BLM-Flare, Despair, Foul, Xenoglossy, and Enochian
    SMN-Demi-Summons, Trance, Aether Charges and Ruin
    WHM-Holy, Misery, Glare, Lily and Dia
    SCH-Broil, Biolysis, Aether Charges, Critical-Shields (Adloquium) and Seraph
    AST-Malefic, Combustion, Magical Sects, Gravity, and Divination
    RDM-Verholy, Verflare, Scorch, and Dualcast

    Maybe make some of them into inherent traits like enochian or change the animation of some of them (malefaction, combustion, despair, foul, xenoglossy) just a thought. I know this has been mentioned before but the small things do matter. By the way, can we just go ahead and rename Fire IV to Forbidden Sun already lol. Maybe SE/FromSoftware can work that out with the naming convention lol.

    At least make them look devastating. Despair looks like a candle light. Foul/Xenoglossy both look like balloons with a dark coloured drawn on eyeball. Holy looks like glossy mist. Misery looks like someone had taken a pink pastel and drew a flower in the game. It’s from a blood lily so I was expecting a blood red lily animation via the damage. Combustion just looks like baby clouds surrounding the enemy too cause a lights persistent burn. I feel like some of these could be greatly improved.

    I fully agree on Despair. It animates too fast and it just sounds weak. Foul is probably still the best of the three in terms of animation and sound, and Flare, though it looks a bit dated, still has the look and feel of a powerful spell. If anything, Foul should be called Despair.

    It's a bit sad that both Despair and Xenoglossy are barely noticeable and are weaker on an aesthetic level than Fire IV, the basic filler nuke. They're just numbers flying in the air. Big numbers, which make me happy, but just numbers all the same. Both feel rushed.

    My hope with BLM was that they would allow for a "Darkness" phase as entropy builds up (given the affiliation of chaos and darkness in the setting) whilst switching through the two elemental stances.

    @Lauront a phase where we capitalise on our dark spells is certainly ideal in my opinion. I think the current BLM spell trend seems too be hinting at more dark related spells. I think the spells are powerful judging from potencies and impact of the spells but the animation is bleh. Foul should be despair (I agree). Despair should have some type of pillar-related name maybe (???)...call it firestorm or Fire V and change it’s animation too one that engulfs the enemy in a maelstrom of fire or at least a tornadoes (cyclone maybe???) of fire.

    Xenoglossy should make me feel like I am breaking the enemy and their meaningless existence. It’s animation should be on of pure darkness (big, purple, and have particle effects that should feel reality shattering lol). Right now it’s powerful but just a ball of guck.

    Flare needs too be updated into something that looks and feels like it’s a spell too rival the gods. Lore and BLM job quest tells us it’s a spell too rival the gods...yet it’s just a bigger Fire IV lol. Give it the animation where it smashes into the ground and erupts into an area of inferno and deadly fire under the enemies feet. I just want too feel like I am actually incinerating the enemies body as oppose to shooting different sized fire-spitballs.

    Yes, compare Despair, to the Ascian signature ability, Entropic/Megiddo Flame (to say nothing of a spell like this.) That spell has the sort of impact a spell on the order of Despair ought to have.

    If they wanted to create a Darkness phase they have ample inspiration from the Ascians and Voidsent magi.
