Let Us Call Urianger Out ((Spoilers))

Before Emet-Selch, I would have scoffed away the theory that Urianger is an Ascian. But now? I'm not sure what he is. If the theory of Urianger being an Ascian held any color of truth, I would think that Emet-Selch would have blown the whistle on that by the end of 5.0. Emet threw all caution to the wind when the Warrior of Darkness and company confronted him before the final days of Amaurot, I, myself, would like to think that he'd have straight-up called out Urianger on the spot during his catharsis. And if Urianger were, indeed, an Ascian, would he have so easily been struck down during the cutscene, when Emet shot him with magic? Maybe not, unless he's a very cunning actor and can feign weakness.

Long story short, I think the possibility of Urianger being an Ascian is probable, but I still have my doubts. It could be his own complex individuality that makes him who he is.

No way Urianger is one of the 13. Could he be another Sundered Ancient? Probable (despite the lack of echo), there had to have been a reason why Elidibus talked to him way back in HW and explained to him how things work (or at least the impression was given that he was told how things are). It's either because he recognized that Urianger works with logic and thus would likely take Elidibus' side if his logic was sound, or Urianger was somebody he knew back in Amaurot and Elidibus felt he would take their side.

I think Urianger is overdue to have his deceptions backfire on him spectacularly, and if anyone of the current cast can do it, it would be Elidibus.


Either that or a good old slap to the face by our character since we're often the one lied to.

Problem with us slapping him is someone always stops us before we can even punch someone... I'm looking at you Thancred and Alphinaud.... we have to get him alone to do it... any ideas?

Blame lalas. Can't even hug my daughteru Alisae because lalas would just be biting her ankles. Yes I would love to see a "Glass him" option in those sleek new dialog boxes. But a lala would have to stand on a chair or use those power spring legs to jump up and do it.

Wild Speculation Incoming:

Now that the grain of salt is taken care of. They already revealed that 13 Ascians make up those 'tempered' by Zodiark. However, I don't remember them mentioning how many split off from the main host to summon Hydaelyn. The only person that seems to be confirmed as part of that group is the WoL, and the Unnamed Shadow that was a friend of Selch (Implied both the same 'Soul'). It could be that all of the Scions are shadows/images of the original Amaurotines that opposed Zodiark. Although, that does beg the question of where are those people on the First. There should be another Quasi-legal semi-underground group bent on opposing 'Light' ... Although, they could have been swallowed by the Flood.
