Housing location suggestions

While a lot of folks are exited about the up coming housing. I feel like there's been a huge issue with both this and SBs housing.

They only release one housing zone per expac. Don't get me wrong it's nice of the Devs to create such housing zones but when they get released, everyone's just piling on fighting for houses.

I feel like this is just one of the many problems with housing.
How are people suppose to compete with the log in que and the campers.

Instead I feel like instead of releasing one new housing zone per expansion, they should take some time to create several. It might cause the huge crowds to split apart.

There's plenty of places currently in the world to place a few housing zones.

A few I thought of:

Mor Dhona - now that alot of the Romans have returned to Doma there's probably alot of empty plots available.

Sea of clouds - the untamed skies was easily monotonized by over eager investors and skyranchers. (I imagine the apartments could be one of those huge airships converted into an apartment complex) maybe add Skypirate themed housing?

Dravania - could be located somewhere in the mountains. Perhaps and old human/dragon settlement.

Idyllshire - I imagine due to the place becoming more popular with adventurers the goblins would of no doubt cleared more of the old abandoned houses out.

Gyr Abanian - An old ruined temple of Rhalgr cleared out by the resistance but with the liberation it's no longer of strategic importance.

Ala Mhigo - With the Liberation came rebuilding. Alot of the resistance members finally starting to rebuild there home. starting with the residential wards. Selling the excess houses to adventurer's in hopes to the boost the economy.

The Ruby Sea - A request from the Ruby princess in order to attract outside traders. A bubble of air was formed by the Kojin deep under the Ruby Sea. With help from the Au Ra artistians of Sui-No-Sato have created a beautiful underwater paradise which will no doubt attract rich tourists from all over.

Doman Enclave - With the full restoration of the enclave came expansion. A large hill side looking the one river dotted with cherry blossoms. (I like to think at least something resides behind that big gate in the enclave)

I doubt anything like this would be implemented. But the thought is nice at least.


Do you guys have any suggestions on where you would like to live in Eorzea?

I think an Idyllshire/Hinterlands housing district with Sharlayan-style homes would be a great option. The Sharlayan buildings in the Hinterlands are really beautiful. I wouldn't mind having an in-game house like that.

Ruby Sea underwater housing would be cool too, but the architectural style of the houses might be too similar to Shirogane's.

The Crystarium and the islands around Eulmore. But I doubt we will get housing on the first. Cause we don't have retainers here.

I would absolutely love Gyr Abanian housing of some sort, especially if they made it in the same vein as the Ishgardian restoration. Maybe filling out the Lochs kinda like the Doman Enclave at the same time.

Maybe airship housing. That would be interesting.

Also feel like devs should do an official poll on what kind of housing area should be introduced next.

With a central aetherite and the housing shops around, it would be faisible ...if they do instancied houses rather than wards. What block them, more than time or money to create areas, is the cost, server side, of wards.
They have enough ressources to add a warehouse if people lose their house, they have enough ressources to make instancied : Inn Room, FC room and apartements but... a house for everyone is impossible? Weird. The only reason is : the wards. They keep imagine everyone want a house in a ward when many of us would be satisfied with an instancied house.
The design of house and the modelisation is not a problem since they have anyway to create some for the main maps. They can adapt an existing model. Floating islands are an easy already available solution for instancied housing system (or airships, as an alternative, but I doubt it ever happens).

So where would I like to have a house? The Coerthas.

there was no announcement about new housing. everyone is just assuming that ishgard restoration will lead to housing. i'm of the opinion that it will not. it'll just be another doman enclave upgrade thing.

They are well aware of the demand players have for Ishgard housing, and while they might not have confirmed it, they certainly have teased it several times. I believe on the ShB website there's mention of a new area to be constructed: The Firmament. There is plenty of reason to believe Ishgard will have housing.

The chances of this happening are very slim but I'd be lying if I didn't say the mention of it in the last live letter gave me a little hope (at least in terms of having apartments there):
