Curaja is so ugly and isnt Curaga supposed to be AoE only?
also for THM:
Sacrifice, Sacrifira? Sacrifiga! Sacrifija... hooooo
Curaga was only exclusively AoE in XI. Due to the system they had in place, they decided to use their normal spell naming system to differentiate between AoE and Single Target. As a Result instead of Cure, Cura, Curaga, Curaja, Curasa, you got Cure, Cure II, Cure III, Curaga, Curaga II.
Personally, I'm in favor of the renaming of the spells since we can toggle AoE on and off. There's no need to use the traditional tags to separate Single and Area in this game. And personally, I think Sacrifija sounds awesome. Also, my favorite spell of all time to say was Banishga. It's just fun. Needs more Scourgra and Scourgaga.
.__.
^Poker face. Lady Scourgaga approved. True story.
In all seriousness, I think that renaming the magic in the game is one of those super easy little things that SE can do to make 14 feel more like a Final Fantasy game. For the people who don't know FF games of the past, it wouldn't matter. For those of us that do, its a little nod to what we know. Sure it doesn't mean too much in and of itself, but a lot of little changes like that can add up fast to make the game "Feel" better.

Curaja is also known as Cure 4 in the original final fantasy.

I think Scourgera and Scourgega might be more applicable when it comes to trying to pronounce those... Although Scourgega sounds like some sort of horrible gum disease or STD...
this is actually a good point, i would prefer Cure > Cura > Curaga > Curaja. Because i can actually imagine npcs referring to them this way, rather than with numbers.
