Ifrit/Garuda/Titan would all probably be quest related drops, but going forward with more Egi glamours you could have had them drop from their respective Primal fight at least.
In theory, that sounds like an ideal solution.
In practice, however (and considering how the gear/armory system works), it would bring SMN's average Item Level down. Just like FSH's spearfishing gig.
