The only change was that I did a clean windows 10 install but it was working prior. Unfortunately, I can't revert anymore.
The sound drivers are tied to the graphics card, which is "Nvidia High Definition Audio Device". I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but it was a clean install to begin with.

I have tried editing the FFXI.cfg file, and changing SoundDolby to 2, it seemed to work (for a day, doesnt work anymore), but now whenver I try it reverts back to 0 before I get in game. Not sure if that's related or not.
I have Dolby Access installed, and my SPeaker Audio channels is set to Dolby Atmos for Home Theater. I've tried 5.1 surround, 5.1 surround 2, 7.1 surround, none of those yielded any changes. I've tried uninstalling the nvidia high definition audio driver and converting it to a 'high definition audio driver' (no nvidia) and that did not work either.

The device is "LG HDR 4k" and "Max Number of Channels" says 8, "Encoded Formats" says DTS Audio, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital.
WHen I do a sound test, each speaker plays audio.

I also uninstalled FFXIV and redownloaded and installed it. I've tried resetting FFXIVs in-game settings using the launcher and that did not work

I really don't know what else to try. I'm fairly decent with computers, but this is a strange problem for me. Surround audio works in just about every other program.
