    Bring back leeches

    While I happy that scholars got back energy drain. I also like the way they tried to separate summoner and scholar. So I'm suggesting that they keep energy drains effect but just change it to leeches. Leeches to anyone who doesn't know or remember it was scholars's esuna. That's why I'm proposing this. So does anyone think this is a good idea?

    Are you asking for Energy Drain's graphical effects to be changed to that of Leeches? Or turning Energy Drain into Leeches (ie. Esuna) but with Energy Drain's animation?
    Or... Are you suggesting an additional effect for Energy Drain that would function as an esuna if used on a party member?
    OR... Are you asking for Leeches to come back?

    I'm sorry, but I don't really understand what you mean. Energy Drain and Leeches have nothing in common. o.0

    I can agree with further differentiating sch from smn, although when I think about it leeches were used to treat ailments IRL so that name was more fitting for the esuna type move. When they get time maybe they could just use a new name for sch's dps aetherflow dump and new animation. Next expansion maybe Bringing back energy drain was just a reluctant quick fix they had to do.

    Honestly, I'm terrified that next expansion they're going to take ED away again, and this time, we're not going to get it back. And call my cynical, I dont think they'll give us a dps aetherflow dump next time to replace it either, it'll be something dumb like "excess aetherflow automatically turns into fairy guage" so they can say "what do you need ED for? Lmao"

    I don’t mind if they differentiate between SMN and SCH in terms of aesthetics. That said, I wouldn’t mind if they renamed all the moves “book-spell 1-whatever” and gave them different coloured glows as animations so long as they restored the feel of the class. Lots of classes have DoTs. Make Miasma into sting and Miasma 2 into swarm, to play into a fairy/insect aesthetic. Or call them rainbow sparkle and big rainbow sparkle and bane sparkle-spread for all I care.

    I find it ironic that the loss of SCHs moves is sometimes referred to as a divorce with SMN. If this is a divorce, we need a better lawyer, since it seems that our spouse got the house, the car, the kids, the money, and the dentist. SMN lost no moves from ACN except Aetherflow/energy drain being rolled into one. SCH lost 2 straight up (miasma, bane), and we lose access to energy drain for 15 levels, and we effectively lose a pet action because both our pets are now identical. For all that we gain Aldo (and SMN gets fester as a unique move AND a third summon with a distinct move) and SMN loses nothing.

    You've got it backwards though, it's not the SCH skill names that need to change it's the SMN ones. SCH's theme is combat medic, using poisons both offensively and defensively. Players have always stated that Arcanist fits better as a base for SCH over SMN, since they basically had the same theme. Had SE moved away from this by "renaming" their upgrade skills, similar to WHM, than I could see them moving away from that theme, sorta. But the fact that they have Art of War and Biolysis shows otherwise. Even Broil fits that motif, though not many people realize. It's not a "fire" spell, I'm throwing my "Flamboyant Speech" at the enemy and making them submit, lol.

    I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

    They even got to keep physick, which is literally worthless on them, but we couldn't keep the half a dozen useful abilities we had as ACN.

    I wasn't meaning it as take things away, but when they upgrade. SMN spells should upgrade to skills that mimic summons. Like maybe upgrade the DoTs to something to represent Ramuh and Shiva; Surge and Rime maybe? On the flip side please have Ruin II upgrade to a different skill. It'll do the same thing but please purge the Ruin line from SCH already.
